Name the guy who was labeled "boring".

Hint: Theyre all the same guy.
Kareem also got the label of being a boring player. Goes to show you how irrational your hate is.

Name the only guy to never repeat.

Name the only guy with only a bronze medal.

Name the only guy to lose to an eighth seed.

Name the player with the lowest peak scoring year.

Name the guy who was labeled "boring".

Hint: Theyre all the same guy.
Name the guy whose eliminated the Suns the most from the playoffs in that picture.

Yeah, I also don't need to imagine a Kobe-in-his-prime team not making the playoffs... crofl
They also almost beat a much higher seed (Suns) in 2006. Kobe 05-07 Laker teams were pretty bad....they had a rough couple of years with some pretty ty players.

But losing to an eighth seed...thats indefensible. Have some pride for christ's sake.

No, because that never existed. I can, however, imagine top seeded Shaq and Pau teams winning championships.
So i assume your saying the years the Lakers were the top seed with Kobe it was all someone else, right?

Whatever. Go back to wiping Harden's ball sweat off your chin.

so if you miss the playoffs in your prime it's somebody else's fault?

but when you actually do make it, and lose, it's worse? crofl

Ya think this is a Spurs forum?

Shaq is, by far, the most dominant player ever to play the game. He was so good in 2000 and 2001 that the rest of the league just threw their hands up and said " it".

The only player in the modern era that is comparable is Hakeem who was also pretty dominant with his size and agility.

Lebron just made his sixth straight NBA finals appearance and won two nba finals games by himself in 2015.

Kareem's sky hook was and is the most un-guardable move in NBA history. Wilt Chamberlin famously said he was the only guy he needed help to guard.

Oh yeah, Kobe. The guy who scored 81 points in a game and 71 through 3 quarters in another. He may have been an obnoxious, egotistical but he was a of a basketball player. He is a basically a god in Asia.

Tim Duncan....Are you ing kidding me? The boring guy? The guy who lost to an 8th seed? The guy who lost a game 7 at home against the Mavs in overtime? The guy who never repeated?

Seriously, this site is full of the biggest bunch of ing idiots.
Ya think this post was written by a victim of the Duncan Dynasty?

We don't need your approval, you miserable sack of . Your arguments are so weak and casual-fan-ish. B-but his points per game were lower! He elevated his stats in the playoffs more than anyone else in this discussion. He was so boooring Maybe for a casual fan or someone on the wrong end of a Duncan beatdown. But even that's a poor excuse. If the tables were turned and Duncan had played against my team of choice, I'd still respect him immensely. You just have terrible taste, and you're a bitter got. Your opinions are terrible, and you should be ashamed to state them in any public forum.

Most basketball experts do rank Duncan higher than Shaq and Kobe, and no amount of butthurt is going to change that.

And scored 71 in three quarters. And two nba scoring les. And two gold medals. And never lost to an eighth seed.

Can you even imagine a top seeded Kobe team losing to an eighth seed?
if you are trying to make a point of Kobe being greater than Duncan you are either a re or a laker troll.

Can you imagine Duncan missing POs in his prime ?

    Umm...yeah.

In his PRIME he couldnt win a gold medal surrounded by all-stars.

    Deal with THAT.

Kobe couldnt make playoffs with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown.

Giving Kobe the credit for Shaq and Pau's teams that succeeded in spite of Kobe
With Kobe as the first option, the Lakers never even won a playoff series and usually missed the playoffs altogether

Do you ever get tired of defending losers, tbh? I know it's your shtick, but still...

    12 is speaking

except Duncan never missed the POs in his prime ever... deal with that

    What Kobe is:

    - #3 on FGAs & #1 on FG missed
    - #56 on WS per 48
    - #35 on +/-
    - #24 on PER

Kobe Bryant most overrated player of all time, not even best player of his generation, declared 12 due to nostalgia , won't even be top 20 in 10 years

Time for advanced stats. Again, advanced stats are certainly not the be all and end all, but it certainly is directionally correct.

Player WS Peak WS/48 Peak WS/48 Career ORTG-DRTG Career BPM Peak BPM Average VORP Peak VORP Career
    Hakeem 15.8 .234 .177 108-98 = 10 8.4 4.9 8.5 77.1
    Kobe 15.3 .224 .170 110-105=5 6.4 3.9 7.1 72.1
    Lebron 20.3 .322 .240 116-102=14 13.0 9.2 11.6 112.1
    Kareem 25.4 .340 .228 115-99 = 16 10.8 5.8 10.5 86.0
    Duncan 17.8 .257 .209 110-96=14 7.6 5.5 8.1 89.3
    Shaq 18.6 .283 .208 113-101=12 9.7 5.0 9.3 74.0

The lowest for each group is bolded.

While 8 is a terrible blemish on Duncan's career, it's not nearly as bad as being the lead player on a legendary franchise like the Lakers and missing the playoffs 4 times. Duncan never let his team miss the playoffs. Not once. Kobe did it 4 times. Including the last three years of horrible embarrassment that nearly sunk the whole franchise. You know, those years when he started high-fiving players on other teams when they were beating him and started publicly worshiping a different California team. You can't complain about 8 if your guy wasn't even good enough to be in that position--4 times.

^ Using the worst number for each peak category, let's see how many seasons the other players have better performance that the worst player to gauge the difference in performance

    WS Peak:
    Worst: Kobe Bryant at 15.3
    Hakeem had 1 season > 15.3
    Lebron 6
    Kareem 6
    Duncan 2
    Shaq 2

    WS/48 Peak:
    Worst: Kobe Bryant at .224
    Hakeem: 1
Lebron: 10 (or only 4 that is lower than Kobe PEAK. Lebron’s AVERGAE was .240, his AVERGAE in Cleveland, that’s when he spent most of his OFF PEAK time, was .224
    Kareem:10
    Duncan:5
Shaq: 8 (I counted the one season Shaq had a .224. This could have been a 7 if you only count >)

    BPM Peak:
    Worst: Kobe Bryant at 6.4
    Hakeem: 3
    Lebron:13 that’s 13 out of 14 seasons folks
    Kareem: 7
Duncan: 5 (note, I included the year Duncan had a 6.4 as well, so it could have been 4 if you only count >)
    Shaq: 4

    VORP Peak:
    Worst: Kobe Bryant at 7.1
    Hakeem: 2
    Lebron: 11
    Kareem: 4
    Duncan: 2
Shaq: 2 (Shaq had a 7.1 season which I counted. Could have been 1 if I only count >)

Note: There were four years of Kareem's career where BPM and VORP were not available. Those were also statistically some of the best numbers of Kareem's career, so I would say the BPM and VORP comparison severely underestimated Kareem's performance compared to the worst of those categories.

And lost a playoff series to an 8th seed.

And was captain of the team that bronzed in Athens.

Sorry Spurs fans, but theres no getting around the fact that Duncan allowed his teams to lose to inferior opponents.

Lets not forget losing a game 7 at home in overtime (in his prime).
