Damn. I actually love Hoodrat teens. I've been with a couple the last 5 years before I started dating my ex and after she dumped me. Kinda crazy how you can get dumped after years of being together.

Two reasons

1) a fellow Spanish speaking player who the s in San Antonio can identify with

2) actually shows personality on the court

2 is pretty much the reason why players become so likable in the first place. It's why Curry will always be more popular than Leonard. Curry does the "stanky leg" and "booty doo" after every made shot while Leonard has the personality of a toll booth operator

Anyone who does those things is a got, though. Less popularity for not being a got - I'd say that's a good tradeoff.

Tim was always a 'reluctant' superstar. He never cared to play the 'look at me' game. Now Manu avoided national junk food commercial and has kept a low profile as well, but he seems much more comfortable with a camera in his face. He has the quality great actors have- an absence of vanity.

In the big 3 era, among NBA watchers..HS ballers etc. If you asked 10 guys, spurs fan or not, who their favourite spur...More often, the Answer was Manu Ginobili.

Sure most people who dont watch the NBA would probably recognize the name Duncan more but within the NBA community Ginobili seemed like the most popular out of the three.

Ginobili had crazy marketibility potential, but it wasn't right for Tim to take a backseat in the regard since he was a much superior player...but i've asked way too many people about this, and its evide nt that Ginobili was the popular guy.

Hence why in those years people use to call Ginobili the "exciting" guy.

Same reason they gave Manu another two year deal he was barely worth the first offer that he leveraged the Spurs on his last contract shows you his lack of class and his knowing that w/ Timmy gone they needed the Mexican butts he puts in the seats,pretty simple

all of them (Parker, Manu, and Timmy) took pay cuts several times to make room for other players to join the Spurs. They did that throughout their career and left better money deals on the table multiple times when they could have gone somewhere else. They only cared about winning together not ego trips. So if all 3 now the Spurs in the face over some extra dough then they ing deserved because they took several for the team for 10-15 years.
