He went ape in the third quarter though to help bring the Spurs back into it when the Rockets nearly blew it open.
i'm a little surprised they didn't treat his tweak sooner if they knew he wasn't gonna play OT. icing it asap wouldn't have helped with swelling?

That guy in your avi has been choking his whole career.
In case you didn't know, Kawhi said he's playing in Game 6.
Absolutely. He was doing everything in that three qtr. Dude was gassed.
A nice shot and rest for game 6 will have him ready for game 7 hopefully
OP starts a terrible game thread and Kawhi gets hurt? Dark stuff.
yeah, it will be difficult enough to win in Houston anyway ... maybe by resting Kawhi you catch the Rockets offguard and still make it a game there

Hahahahaha! My thoughts exactly......

By the way, I heard that Darth Vader's chamber is available, anyone here who knows Kylo Ren? we may borrow it, hahahaha
On second thought, Luke might get mad, lol
Mother day will be either game 7 or game 1 with Dubs
Gonna get lots of treatment over the next 36 hours. Let's see how much it helps.
That's why I took my mom to dinner last night.![]()
Don't base too much on what you saw in the game. A Grade 2 sprain that involves multiple ligaments can be pretty serious. I don't think they would chance playing him in that case. A Grade 3 sprain (basically a full tear) can sometimes hurt less than a Grade 2 - and, yes, you could continue to play with a Grade 3. The ankle would be weak and unstable, and the player would be doing more damage, but he might be able to keep playing. If they call it a Grade 3, there's zero chance he plays again in this series.
Winning this series is meaningless, if Kawhi isn't there for the WCF. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Pop rest Kawhi in Houston, no matter what.
If there is any doubt rest him and Ginobili as well. Save it for game 7, if necessary.
In retrospect.... I now understand Pop giving up very early in game 4 in Houston.
I suspect now Kawhi had been with this knee issue back then too, and in the 3rd Q the Rockettes got hot. Pop put the bench in to see if they could make a little run to close that gap and they couldn't (though they tried)... I believed at the time 14 points with an entire 12 minutes in the 4th Q was not insurmountable, but I now see the picture different. It was with Kawhi at maybe 80% with a sore knee, overplaying him to mount a comeback was a gamble bc they could still fall short and then he would have been worse than he was to play game 5.
Agreed especially in the context of having no TP. TP could run the offense and manufacture points for himself/others in the half court PnR sets while Kawhi rested. With no TP, the strain on Kawhi is massive and can't risk making him too tired in a game that frankly was not winnable like game 4.
Yes, but what did Pop say?
what does the MRI say?
But, what does the fox say?
Yes. Good point. People are focused (rightly so) on the ankle injury. But what I am curious about is the dinged up knee. Does anybody know what caused that?
I didn't think we had much of a chance against the Dubs with a healthy Tony (even ballin' like he was) and a healthy Kawhi. (Too much depended on our questionable role players showing up - especially LMA.) But without THAT Tony and a healthy Kawhi, our chances of beating the Rockettes are not great. Beating the Dubs wouldn't even be a possibility.
I totally agree with you here.
I thought the same, even with healthy Tony and Kawhi, the rest of the team was questionable to me. Let's not forget Manu has had only 2 great games the entire playoffs the two game 5 of both series, sprinkled with a series of 0fers, and games that make one wish he would retire already. But the more questionable to me are always LMA and Pau. They need to be dominant to present a real challenge to the dubs and they haven't (Dedmon, who was great against athletic teams in the regular season fell out of the rotation, Pop at times living and dying with DLee) etc. Just too many real rotation guys were questionable to me to be fooling myself against the dubs. Without a healthy Kiwi it may very well be over. I still want them to advance but from here on out, things are gravy.
Just give Klaw a couple of Shaq's ol' fashion Icy Hots tbh

I really want to know the reason for it, I guess it just BS Pop. I want to see him going to work against Capela, while I still believe that he could hold his own against Anderson on the perimeter.
dubs are the best team in the west this year and pretty much have been all season. so, beating tnem-IF we get by the rockettes-would be a massive upset. that being said, i want more games for the young fellers to earn some valuable experience towards next year and just to get the chance to play. one can never know what injuries from GS could happen that would increase the odds, unlikely as that seems.
