Let's pray he doesn't become injury-prone. That would ruin (is ruining) everything.

Lock this dude up longterm, tbh..

I don't want us to take any in chances with Kawhi in free agency. He is not that snake ass Durant, but you never know. A lot can change in couple of years: Pop might step down; the front office failure to improve the roster, pressure from family/camp to relocate to California.. who knows really?

I don't know if it is unavoidable. That money is absurd, and I don't think any team could make it work unless the cap can stay at near $110 Million. Sure, they could keep Kawhi, but good luck signing or keeping another star. It may end up really not mattering because 2021 feels like a lockout year right now.
I Didn't know about the uncertainty in future cap but a guy like Kawhi, if healthy will be worth it.
I would rather see less superteams personally.
Go back to franchise star, drafting , development, good front office management. I wouldn't mind to see more teams of just one star and role players...It might even the playing field for teams and augment compe ion (spread out concentration of talent)...

Why wouldn't Kawhi take as much as he can get? The Spurs already ed up by building a team around him. Does he trust that he can get some actual help when it matters?

Curry over Westbrook is totally defensible. One played full season for team with most wins in league. Also, of the five votes that didn't go to Lebron and Kawhi, Durant got three and Green got two. I'm less okay with that but no problem voting for Warriors (other Green votes at center). I do want to know, though, if someone put three Warriors on first team which is not defensible.

But third team, and who did they vote for over Kawhi???
Draymond probably. Typical blind homer .

No that, he should take every penny he can get. If the Spurs are going to stretch out Parker and pay Manu 14m for his 4pts a game off the bench, the Kawhi, being the one and only and with a league full of salivating GMs ready to sell the farm for him, should capitalize on it. Lord knows his acting career isn't taking off.

    43M/yr

Time to build a super team next year then while the franchise player is making peanuts, like the Warriors did with Steph.

All in for CP3, and even in on Blake if he replaces Lamarsha

Also Anthony Davis the black Minnesota Kevin Love continuing to benefit from these pointless Center mandatory spots.

    Overrated stat padder.

It's not about is Kawhi worth the max; it's about is the max too high. It's going to be way too ing high, even for top-three guys.

Someone needs to give us the name of the idiots that picked Durant over Kawhi despite the former missing 15 freaking games.

Also who the picked him third team.

You'd think by now the NBA would be smart enough to know who to pick as voters.

    Smdh.

At least Lebron only had one idiot who picked him second.
If they have votes, probably El-Hassan and Lee.

Davis getting freebies because he gets voted as center meanwhile he doesnt even play center. God i hate this hack.
Davis primarily played center for a while, after Gentry benched Asik and Ajinca and before Demps acquired Cousins.

Gobert is the only true center who has a legitimate case for making the 1st team, but I'd rather they shoehorn a top 10 player in, than hand it to a top 20 one on a technicality. They've done that enough, with the likes of M. Gasol, Noah and Jordan, in the past.

The only positive about this Rule is that, there's less chances now of forming crazy superteams.
Yeah, but that's actually going to help the Warriors and to a lesser extent Cavaliers (because of James' age/mileage) maintain their air of invincibility. The damage is done in those cases; their respective cores will remain intact. Now, even if Paul, for example, wanted to consider the Spurs, he'd either have to take an unreasonable discount or they'd have to somewhat gut the team to accommodate him.

I just wonder, What the are people going to do with Curry next year?

He's clearly the best PG in the league. They eviscerated every decent team in that 13-0 run without Durant.

Harden and Westbrook are both going to continue getting their inorganic stats and achieve 45-51 wins something that is significantly less impressive than Curry who probably is the difference between 55 win Warriors and 60 win Warriors..

People underestimating how ridiculously difficult it is to help a team achieve the 60 win Milestone.

43 million a year. Damn. Thats over $1.9 million per regular season game. If he averaged 30 points a game and played all 82 games, thats almost $18,000 for every point scored.
That's it, I'm going back into the gym. Sacrifice I'm willing to make.
