Trump’s Own Cabinet Just Outed Him For Lying About Putin Meeting
statements by both Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and deputy White House Press Secretary both issued statements of their own directly refuting what Trump said.
The Boston Globe also reported on the issue:
“’White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Monday that ‘‘sanctions specific to election meddling were discussed’ in Friday’s meeting with Putin.”
According to The Washington Post, Tillerson said that
“Trump told Putin that members of Congress were pushing for additional sanctions against Russia over the election issue.”
White House Press Secretary Sean er has indicated that Trump’s tweets are, in fact, “official statements.”
This, then, would signal the latest instance that
Trump and his own cabinet members have directly conflicted each other with their statements.
