I doubt it. Hater has just always been looking to stir the pot (and he's good at it ).

    Read that.

Long, but holy it is being replicated all across the government.

The incompetence of the Trump team is breathtaking in magnitude.

And yet today the program sits frozen. “There’s no direction what to do with the applications,” says the young career civil servant. “Are we shutting the program down?” They’d rather not, but if that’s what they are going to do, they should do it. “There’s no staff, just me,” says the civil servant. “People keep bugging me for direction. It’s got to the point I don’t care if you tell me to tear the program down. Just tell me what you want to do so I can do it intelligently.” Another permanent employee, in another wing of the D.O.E., says, “The biggest change is the grinding to a halt of any proactive work. There’s very little work happening. There’s a lot of confusion about what our mission was going to be. For a majority of the workforce it’s been demoralizing.”

I don't think hater even voted for Trump. I remember right after Trump won hater made an oh post where he said Trump would probably be one of the most corrupt presidents ever before he jumped back in character to troll all of us who were rightfully scared as of the result.

Over and over again, I was asked by people who worked inside the D.O.E. not to use their names, or identify them in any way, for fear of reprisal. “People are heading for the doors,” says Tarak Shah. “And that’s really sad and destructive. The best and the brightest are the ones being targeted. They will leave fastest. Because they will get the best job offers.”

What scares me the most was one of the Trump supporters, when told about Trump using the presidency to benefit himself said "he deserves it."

Incompetent and corrupt, and the people who support him do not care. ....

This kind of brain drain brings down countries.

You can't lose that much quality human capital and replace it without a lot of effort and time.

What the inept Trump administration is doing to the country will take years to fix, and the damage is only now being done.

I shudder to think what the ultimate damage will be. This sounds like the Republican bumbling in the Iraqi provisional government, but is the US government that is being destroyed.

It's not the Trash Exec, nor even Trash personally.

Replacing Trash with Pence this afternoon would CHANGE NOTHING

The assholes he put to run and staff the agencies were most probably totally unknown to him. They were chosen by the oligarchy, by Bannon, by Repugs.

The worst damage to America is not ing Trash's tweets, but the 3 branches controlled by one party, totally uncontrolled.

The destruction, destabilization the Repugs/BigOil did to the Middle has been running for 14 years, and will continue for decades.

Like the destruction of the US govt, of America's environment, and 100Ks of death of Americans for want of help care will continue for many years, and will almost impossible to stop, if not reverse.

But you sunny optimistic Pollyannas continue your inane hopes of reversal, pendulum swimming

America is ed and un able. The oligarchy is in full control and is unstoppable.

In his four years on the job [Chief Risk Officer-RG] MacWilliams had come to understand the D.O.E.’s biggest risks, the way a corporate risk officer might understand the risks inside a company, and had catalogued them for the next administration. “My team prepared its own books. They were never given to anybody. I never had a chance to sit with [the Trump people] and tell them what we’re doing, even for a day. And I’d have done it for weeks. I think this was a sad thing. There are things you want to know that would keep you up at night. And I never talked to anyone about them.”

t’s been five months since he left government service, and I’m the first person to ask him what he knows. Still, I think it is important, as I pull my chair in to his kitchen table, to conduct the briefing in the spirit the Trump people might have approached it—just to see how he could have helped even those who thought they didn’t need his help. I assume the tone and manner befitting a self-important, mistrustful person newly arrived from some right-wing think tank. And so I wave my hand over his thick briefing books and say, “Just give me the top five risks I need to worry about right away. Start at the top.”

Right away we have a problem. At the very top of his list is an accident with nuclear weapons, and it is difficult to discuss that topic with someone who doesn’t have security clearance. But the Trump people didn’t have it, either, I point out, so he’ll just need to work around it. “I have to be careful here,” he says. He wants to make a big point: the D.O.E. has the job of ensuring that nuclear weapons are not lost or stolen, or at the slightest risk of exploding when they should not. “It’s a thing Rick Perry should worry about every day,” he says.

“Are you telling me that there have been scares?”

He thinks a moment. “They’ve never had a weapon that has been lost,” he says carefully. “Weapons have fallen off planes.” He pauses again. “I would encourage you to spend an hour reading about Broken Arrows.”
What Trump and his team of incompetent bunglers don't know, and aren't doing anything about, could literally kill tens of millions of people.

    "Our nuclear is not tippy-top."

SitRep: Trump Tweets Classified CIA Program; Top WH Officials Burning Out

Afghan grind fragmenting Trump’s cabinet. There’s little good news coming out of Afghanistan these days, and in Washington, the wheels keep turning on the long-awaited Trump strategy. But two national security officials told Politico’s Susan Glasser that a recent National Security Council Principals Committee meeting about Afghanistan descended into a “ show” of disagreements and complaints.

So far, president Trump has refused to sign off on any plan that national security advisor, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster has given him. The Daily Beast adds that presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner is “deliberately not taking a hard position” on troop levels and potential escalation, according to officials, preferring instead to watch the mood of the president, which “has shifted closer to heavier skepticism regarding deeper military involvement in a conflict that the president often now views as potentially yielding no tangible win for his presidency.”

I'm not surprised. What was a Trump presidency supposed to look like? He ran a campaign about nothing but anger, racism, and fear. Of course it was supposed to turn out like this.

I have the thin consolation in thinking that this may actually be the impetus for a lot of good people to join the Democratic party.

The GOP has had some rather high-profile defections in the last few years. I expect its continued support for Trump will harm it.

The pictures of Republican interns in the last few years as a sea of white is sort of the canary in the coal mine to me.

The Trump presidency is really really damaging the GOP brand for a generation, and the dearth of talent entering their pool, together with the people getting "woke" about being Democrats as a means to fight this stupidity will have some long term implications.

The GOP doesn't care about voters defecting, nor about their brand (70% disapproval for GOP Congress, while doing nothing to improve it)

The GOP ONLY cares about $Bs in support from the oligarchy.

Bush’s CIA Deputy Director Just Issued A Chilling Response To Trump’s Boy Scout Speech

    Replying to @BillKristol

Trump's Boy Scout speech had the feel of a third world authoritarian's youth rally.
