Just in case. If you Kawhi's fam are reading SpursTalk/this thread while thinking these Spurs fan hate Kawhi...You're wrong, they don't.
ST has many crazy trolls that never take anything seriously. Just read threads about LV shooting, coach Pop opinions, Harvey's devastation or Tim Duncan needs your help....ST trolls like to make fun of tragedies.
All users here love Kawhi, obviously we're worried about his injury.
You have to understand the rare dynamic of some forums so don't believe what you see here/online.
Give your fam a high five from us and tell him our prayers are with him/his quad.![]()

Some news... didn't see it elsewhere:
A small worry is that this is not CIA PopIn a way, it kind of helps to get the other players more involved, more confident, having more shots," Ginobili said. "But we know [this is] not the team we're going to be. So [the absence of Leonard and Parker] it helps in some ways. But we need to play with [Leonard] because he's our go-to guy. He's the one that carries the load offensively. We need to adjust to play with him again. It is very unfortunate that he's not been able to be with us or to play in the preseason. We are building, of course, and hopefully we get him back quickly."
Popovich mentioned last week that Leonard did not suffer the injury recently, and that it has lingered from last season while the rehab has "gone a little more slowly than we thought."
Yeah, there's people here that always say "CIA Pop" and blow everything off, they always think everything is a cover up. That pisses me off.
That last bit in your post is what stuck out to me when this was first announced, and that is the bit that has me worried. I thought he had his quad issues sorted out. This is bad news if it's still lingering.
I remember reading during one of the off-seasons, not sure if it was 2 or 3 off-seasons ago, but I thought I read Kawhi getting research done about balancing out the muscle groups so that he doesn't have those quad injuries anymore.
Edit : I found the article about the work they did on his quads. It seems that this has gone back to 2012. I didn't think it was that far back. Which quad is the one that is bothering him this preseason?

It was a twist of the knee that helped Leonard fulfill that vision. During his second NBA season in 2012, Leonard was sidelined for 18 games with quadriceps tendinitis near his left knee. That offseason, the Spurs sent him to P3 to assess his vastus medialis, a teardrop-shaped muscle in the quads that powers the knee joint. "They focus on trying to balance out your body," Leonard explains. "You don't train there. I learned more about the body."
When P3's evaluation showed imbalances from his injury -- the particulars of which P3 refused to reveal to ESPN -- Leonard and Shelton devoted that summer to ensuring his quads weren't just strong but symmetrically and multidirectionally strong. "Most players are linear; they can run in a straight line and jump vertically," Shelton says. "But with Kawhi, we focus on perfecting change of direction.
lol the closest thing to Jordan that we have today being "insanely boring".
He's the best current player at what, for me, is the most aesthetically pleasant move in the sport: the fade away jumper.
Right quad.
It’s uncertain when Leonard first experienced significant thigh pain last season. In March 2016, he suffered a right quad contusion in a game against the Miami Heat that sidelined him for the next three games.
Rudy Gay will have to do his Dominque Wilkins impression.
I saw some tweets/videos of folks saying Kawhi had a limp. (Don't remember which thread) Michael Wright replied to a comment saying he didn't have a limp on the below tweet. Maybe he'll be fine next week after all (?)
Kawhi or no Kawhi we are a first round exit
not sure if this has been posted. This was after todays practice
According to Manu he goes to the gym but he hasnt done any scrimmage.
very concerning tbh.
if it was precautionary he would at least play scrimmage games..
not precautionary.
confirmed.
it does seem as if he may miss the first few games of the season if he hasn't even been able to get in a few scrimmages. the timeline is getting awfully narrow.
I blocked out the "Pre" part and thought this was a new thread.
At this point I wouldn't be shocked to see him miss a good bit of the season. Full tank ahead.
hmmm. did he get injured in the car accident in China??
The fact that teammates have no clue & spurs remain silent cant be good.
