It's not baseless. PATFO'S missteps have been common knowledge forever now. And, believe it or not, I am still a Spurs fan. I'm just calling a spade a spade is all.

It'll be awhile before the real bandwagoners come back though, tbh. This DD/LMA/Gay team won't be going anywhere for some time, unfortunately.
now there are "real" bandwagon fans.

Like I said, if it was all really beyond repair, they still ed up making that deal that they did.

Oh and book it on that Gay contract, btw.
The big mistake they made I felt was not trading him for Tatum and Brown when they could have done it. Tatum and Brown may never be as good as him but they would have been two young exciting players the Spurs could have molded into all-stars. Honestly I wanted them to force him to play out his final year and make him sweat it out much like the Pelicans are doing with Davis.

As opposed to implying that I bandwagon yes. There are definitely some people here that went with Kawhi and will be back if this team is ever relevant again.

tatum and brown didnt this years playoffs also, they have regress to the kyrie irving front seat viewers...

who knows what wouldve happen if they had 1yr spurs exp under their belt...compared to the pos ddr

i still think the spurs shouldve made a deal with clippers for harris + 15+16th picks....

Don't know if they could considering that was before the relationship appeared fractured beyond repair. For THAT, I do not fault the FO.

Should've taken the Clippers deal, tbh.

Also, why is 16/39 on 41% shooting a bad thing, Offset? Who else were they going to feed? Ibaka who was the only other Raptor to show up? Leonard was averaging 35+ on 60%+ shooting for most of the series anyway.

DD shot 33% in his game 7 against worse defenders.

From what I have heard the relationship was already fractured when that deal was offered but according to MoSpur the Spurs FO thought they could still fix it hence why it dragged on until the summer. The Celtics made the offer around the trade deadline last year and Spurs passed up on it. Wouldn't have done the Clipps deal. Tobias is not a max player in my eyes. He's a great third or fourth option on a championship team.

harris is not a max guy, but his a guy who can spread the floor, unlike ddr who cant shoot the 3... at leasts harris was a 1yr rental i think had they pulled the deal

Tobias would've been fine if they really wanted to "compete" that badly. I wouldn't offer him a max either, tbh. It's the picks that intrigued me. 15/16 > 29/Turdtl

It's pretty ty. I can't be a hypocrite about it since I bashed Kobe for years for having games like this and getting bailed out by Gasol. In #2's case I won't even say his teammates bailed him out more so the Sixers just choked a lot harder. I have never seen a player shoot that poorly on that many attempts and win a playoff game.

Clutch as in 4th too after shooting so poorly. Maintained his confidence despite probably one of his worst shooting performances ever

Well, we definitely can't say it was his teammates when he scored most of the points in the 4th and no one else except Ibaka shot over 37%. We also can't hate on his percentage this game when he was averaging MJ numbers for most of the series.

I don't see any prospects that really stand out from last year's draft after the top 14. Lonnie Walker looks as good potential wise as the other guys drafted after 14 of last year's draft. Here is is the list of all the guys drafted in 2018. You tell me who you would have wanted the Spurs to get with those picks https://www.basketball-reference.com.../NBA_2018.html

You know who else looks dumbAF right now? All the other teams that didn’t offer for kawhi, especially philly.
That's what it boils down to. All the other teams that were interested but didn't commit. They look even dumber. Celtics and Sixers messed up

You are moving the goal post. I base performances game to game and not what a player did the previous game. Sure he had a great series but it doesn't change the fact he shot a very ty percentage today. I can't think of a time where a guy took close to 40 FG attempts and shot below 45 percent and won a playoff game. Like I said before the Sixers choked harder today then the Raptors. Ask yourself this question do you think he would have won had he had that type of game against an experienced team like the Warriors?

Spurs got 19 and 29. I mention 19 because their record would have been better had they not traded #2. They will get the same type of quality players with those 2 picks like they would have gotten last year with 15 and 16.

You can say that about any team. Your star not shooting well isn't exactly a recipe for success. He showed up when it mattered though.

And, again, can't really fault him. The 76ers threw everything at him while no one else except Ibaka showed up and he still took them to the ECF. :

still shouldve taken that clippers deal and rebuild through the draft

get rid of lma and see what picks u can get for him...

then trade harris after 1yr rental since his a FA

Why did kawhi want out though? Did RC or an owner say something about him being weird, was Parker the tipping point? We'll never know...
