one of the things that makes the Drafthouse cool.
one of the things that makes the Drafthouse cool.
I thought the movie was pretty flat.
Great characters but the story line was pretty boring.
Could not care any less about the Riddler and his re ed motives.
I thought for a minute "all right! No lengthy time spent on the parents getting shot in the alley" but I needed some kind of background on how he learned to fight, be a smart detective, create a bat cave and make cool weapons and vehicles. Three hours and they couldn't give us three minutes of background.
Pattinson gets a B+ as Batman, C- as Bruce Wayne. Funny how this dude with a skinny teenager body fills up the thick muscular bat suit.
My favorite actor was Jeffrey Wright as Gordon. Thought he was perfect.
Ditto, on Colin as the Penguin. Completely forgot who it was when I was watching, which btw I thought the car chase scene with him was really underwhelming.
7/10 won't watch this again for another 20 years
Loved it
Lots of references to The Long Halloween and some Year One elements as well
And the movie featured 2 of my favourite actors, John Turturo and Jeffrey Wright.
They were both great, Turturo especially was perfect casting to play Falcone
And of course, to no one’ssurprise, we got the mandatory Joker cameo in the end
They weren’t kidding when they said it would be more detective oriented
Got some Se7en vibes too
Gotham actually looked like Gotham and that’s awesome

Plan to go Monday
Oh and lol at the batmobile that looked like it was souped up by a high school kid in his parents driveway
Batman’s original batmobile in the comics was a regular car tbh
we have 2 years left to bring back michael keaton for TDKR
well i guess batfleck could do it next year
if we play our cards right, we could have keaton as TDKR in 2024 and then have him as old batman forever in 2026
If that works for you, great. I thought it was lame tbh
nah man the sound it made when he jumpstarted it was awesome in an imax theater tbh
it sounded like some punk ass kid trying to show off his souped up dodge charger with an old 486 or something
Agreed, I like the fact that he was still developing all his gear and some of it was pretty rudimentary and rough around the edges. I loved the leather s ching on his mask, although that alone means this iteration of Batman would have died within his first two weeks of fighting crime![]()
IIRC the whole point was to take Penguin’s attention away from Catwoman.
Yeah, he's known to be easily distracted by loud cars.
I'm not trying to be a downer on this flick because end of the day I liked it. I just didn't fall in love with it. I had way more fun with the Bale movies.
Well he's kinda a punk ass kid, that Batman
By the way, Battinson driving around Gotham and chasing criminals is way more realistic than Bateman (Batman, Bateman, Bale see what I did ok I'm sorry) driving and chasing cars in Nolan's Gotham
In the Nolanverse there i barely any traffic it's like nobody lives in that city
There was a lot of traffic in the Penguin chase scene
Also Gotham looked like Gotham
In the Nolanverse Gotham looked ok in BB, but in TDK and TDKR all I could see was Chicago/NY and some Pennsylvania hole
Apparently there’s lots of people confused, thinking that it’s ambiguous whether or not Riddler knows he’s Bruce Wayne. How is that even possible? It’s very clear he doesn’t know.
There sure are a lot of cops at the police station on a bunch of different floors
We can spend all day nitpicking The Batman, but trust me, the Nolan movies are infinitely more nitpickable![]()
^
Mono cosplaying his favorite hero.

We can nitpick about every superhero movie tbhlol. I just didn't really enjoy this movie. Nothing fun, villain sucked and was at least an hour too long. imo. I don't get the love for it but is what it is.
WHY DO YOU LIVE IN THIS FANTASY WORLD WHERE YOU IMAGINE HIM WITH A FAT ADDICTION. YOU CALL HIM A FATTY BUT CAN NEVER PROVE IT. HE'LL MEET YOU BEHIND THE TAT PARLOR ANY DAY JUST SAY THE WORD.
God bless.
