Wouldn't the brainwashing apply to both sides? The left and the right?

Providing the illusion that there's really a big difference between the two parties? While the people at the top profit either way.
The whole premise is dividing people along artificial lines from the top to the bottom. USA/China, black/white, democrat/republican, Christian/Muslim.

When in reality, the large majority of people, regardless of country, race, religion, etc... just want to be able to get on with their lives. Imo, most people don't give a where someone is from, what color they are, what god they might or might not believe in, etc.

I read left outlets to see reaction of what is occurring. Most seem to believe like Winehole above, that this is just nazis and racist. Beyond the arrogance to believe only one side is racist, such behavior like racism is the line in the sand for them. On equal footing with physical assault or pedophilia.
