I've yet to come around to being a fan of his or think that the Spurs should have committed to two years of him at that salary. Yes, I know his contract is only half guaranteed, but that only means the marginal savings for cutting him is so low that they probably won't do so. He's probably been the worst center on the team this year, and while there's hope he get's better: A) He's always been a bad player, even during his best stretches -- this isn't a matter of just returning to form; B) That's hopefully true of any old prospect center -- the team can and should look to bringing in a real prospect and/or a real rotation center and not give Collins the developmental priority he's honestly not earning right now.
The Spurs can stretch Collins to drastically reduce his cap hit this summer, and that's a key to the team doing any big acquisition. Of course, that would just continue the team's annoying tradition of carrying loads of dead money for the last several seasons. It would be a mildly painful exit to a self-inflicted situation.

people think because he was drafted in the top 10 he has some kinda hidden potential still waiting to be unlocked. He is what he is tbh.
Give the man some time
