So I guess its ok to give up on home grown talent and look for help elsewhere..not the spurs way..if there is such a thing now!

But is there any big signing(s) that could still be expected? I speculated the other day that the Spurs could simply trade DJ for the best haul, trade Poeltl, rent cap space and not sign any big names. But somehow it’s too quiet, it’s deftening. Poeltl is still not moved. Why reject a young position of need player like Okongwu? Are the picks for us or for another team’s demands to release a targeted player? And Wright said, our trades are both for the future and now. That sounds the Spurs will still contend, but will align with our youth in the long-term. It would have to be a young enough caliber player. A trade of Poeltl plus picks for Ayton? Maybe Simmons? One could hear that motor quietly working. Something big is still up.
When you’re the cap facilitator, you have to wait on the major players to sort out their trade, then get in there with your own wants and needs. That takes time. If you haven’t heard anything by the 15th, then worry. We’re not even out of the moratorium period yet.

^ my highly confidential sources have told me there isn’t a package we could ever put together to make the above happen even with Primo’s impending future HoFer status
Yeah, I'd say those sources are more than legit. Thanks for breaking down what it would take for it to happen.

Spurs likely are NOT signing any FAs of note. DJ and Lonnie were draft picks out to offset 3 new draft picks in. We’re still developing and home growing until we hit the winning ticket again.
