This team is already playing leagues better defense both with and without Wemby.

IMO Pop is the best defensive coach the league has ever seen. Dude knows how to get guys to put in effort.

I don't know if he was underestimated as much as there were no analogues to compare him to. Scouts were just left with no way to really forecast his abilities because he's a one of a kind type player, even moreso than LeBron where at least you had some parallels like Magic, Grant Hill, etc. Wemby is completely unique.
