The bible is/was not a fax straight from God - it may have been inspired by God, but man wrote it down, and therefore you have to consider the context in which it was written. Paul said women shouldn't speak in the church - should they take away my mother's Masters of Divination - should she not be allowed to preach anymore? Leviticus says that gays should be killed, that it's okay to own slaves, and that you shouldn't deal with women who are on their periods. I'm on the rag, Zak, maybe you shouldn't reply to this if you want to be a faithful believer.

You have to consider context and audience.

It's depressing, really - Bush's imperialistic tendencies have lent themselves to a new Manifest Destiny of sorts - he's running over all kinds of people. The FACTS are that Love Conquers All. When I read the Bible, i can find things that are wrong. I see the TRUTH. Because my foundation is a ROCK. Jesus Christ is a ROCK on which God allows us All to Stand. He lifts us up.

Revelation is a Good Message. YES. It speaks of doom, but it speaks of Salvation. It speaks of the END of SATAN. It is a Good Message. It is a warning of things to come. Will we be ready? I will. Who else? I KNOW who i'm following. He's leading the way and watching our back at the same time.
He'll take us anywhere we want to go with Good intentions. I truly BELIEVE. I don't spit words out to convince people. I just say what my experiences are and what my beliefs are and people can judge as they wish and spit venom as they wish. Or agree. I can be wrong. I will be wrong about a great many things. But My Foundation is Solid. So WHEN I FALL? I have no fear. I will get up again. EVERY TIME. I will LEARN from my mistakes.

IF we could all be so bold? The world would be a better place. I GUARANTEE you that. The Holy Bible has been around for 1000's of years. You are trying to tell me that NOW is the time to put it on the shelf to collect dust? No. I cannot. I've made my choice. Everyone must make their own choice. But NOW, we need to be Closer to Jesus Christ than EVER. I truly believe we are in the Last Days before the Final Judgement. If I am wrong? Good. God willing, I live a long happy life with a happy healthy family. IF I am right? I will be prepared.

How so? By strengthening my Faith in Him through His Son, each and every day. Nothing more, Nothing less.

I am upset with his border policies. But I wonder why he has allowed them to be lax.

I am upset that progress in Iraq is not as fast as we would all like it to be. But I wonder what obstacles or plans our Military has that we are not aware of.

Always, whenever there is a problem, there is a reason that the problem occured. Always, whenever there is a problem, there is a solution that can be reached.

We must remember our childhoods. BEFORE we were jaded by the society we live in. REALITY. Rise above. Stop thinking so damn much and get out of our own ways. Make Faith Based Decisions that we BELIEVE serve a Good Purpose and Everything is going to be alright.

I read a lot about the reformation and although to some degree you are right (the Church is partially to blame for what happened) Martin Luther tried to come change theology to suit his purposes. He even excluded books form the Bible that did not agree with his beliefs.
