He won’t fix everything, but I’ll be dipped if they don’t make a play-in run now. I don’t see why he can’t help us rip off a 7-3 for the next 10

Fox's wife didn't want to come to Texas. Evidently where she wanted to live wasn't a consideration in Fox's decision to ask out.

It's understandable. People like to work under the assumption that because she was from here she wanted to be here but the opposite could very well be the case. She could have been happy to get out of the place she grew up.

And basketball wives never want to come to San Antonio. They want to head to big markets where they can be big market basketball players wives.

What is he eligible for at the end of 2026? Can he pretend to the max 5 years/296 millions?

The Curiously Never Busy Fred's Fish Fry of De'Aaron Fox ... (and when you come in to order something the lady gives you a bad look and it takes 20 minutes)

heres the basic breakdown of max contracts

0–6 years: Players can earn 25% of the salary cap
7–9 years: Players can earn 30% of the salary cap
10 or more years: Players can earn 35% of the salary cap

when you hear "supermax"... that more or less means that players in that second tier can get a bump and go directly to the 35% figure instead of being bound by 30%.

Fox will be an 8 year player at the end of this year. when his contract expires at the end of 2026, he will only be eligible for the 30% figure (he's not supermax eligible). what seems more likely is he will sign a shorter term deal like a 3 year deal with the last year being a player option, with the intention of opting out and then signing a 35% contract (assuming he plays to those standards)

for reference, this offseason, the expected max contract at 30% would be 5/269, while the expected max contract at 35% would be 5/314

Legit kind of excited about the idea of Blake being around Fox and trying to model his game after him.

The other thing I haven't seen people talk about a lot is the whole burden of the team is on Wemby's shoulders night in & night out, and this is very taxing he's still very young. He has talked about it as well, saying it's harder mentally than it is physically. The presence of Fox is a lot of that burden lifted off of him that he doesn't have to be the guy every single game now.
Timmy had Tony & Manu who could take over a game on any day of the week. Until today we only had Victor.

Fox is a good player but man eating up 30% of salary cap, that'll leave little room when Wemby's contract will also eat another 25% and we need to sign Castle the following year.
