IT had more on Florida RB Jadan Baugh this morning.

He's well aware of Texas' interest should he enter the portal, and Florida's main issue right now is a lack of a RBs coach.

They figured Baugh would be solid on staying at Florida by now, but their source is a little less confident today and now DJ Lagway is in the portal.

A name to remember for this upcoming class.

We'll see if Coach Juluke shows interest as he's been absolutely tearing it up, and Ohio State offered this evening.

It's still a bit unclear as to the exact reason why Lefau left.

OTF mentioned compensation while IT said he was more unhappy with LB rotations and it wasn't about money.

Either way, sounds like he's headed to BYU and the staff feels as if they can do well in the portal.

So weird because I swear I would always see him on the field especially during key 3rd/4th downs. Oh well, hope him all the best but seems like miscommunication or he thinks he should be more of a focal point.

I liked Lefau as well and he looked like he was on the field a lot. If someone (e.g. Smith) is rising and competing for snaps, treat it as an opportunity to get better and win back playing time. But for now, we're just speculating as to why he's portalling. Hate to see him go, but I wish him well.

As a side comment, I really enjoyed watching the Army/Navy game this weekend. It felt like what college football used to be 15-20 years ago. True school pride coupled with love for America. I doubt those players have NIL access or the ability to portal out. They play for the love of the game and the love of the school. The coach / player dynamic at the military schools has to be very different than the rest of college football. A Marine friend of mine commented that the players in the trenches are typically smaller than those in the regular colleges because all of the players have to meet military fitness standards.

OTF on RB Tre Wisner and his future...

"I was also told Juluke’s first meeting with running back Tre Wisner went very well. Wisner faces a significant decision ahead of the 2026 season, with the NFL, NIL opportunities, and the transfer portal all in play. While there are several boxes that still need to be checked, the early impression from that initial meeting was positive, and Juluke appears to have earned a sense of approval from the soon-to-be senior back."

Sark mentioned no plans to cancel the big games already scheduled, but those further down the road are no longer set in stone.
I was half joking when I asked. I didn't know it was actually being mulled over

For those unaware, Juluke is a New Orleans native and former head coach of Edna Karr.

    Deep Louisiana ties.

I thought his name sounded familiar. He was at Tech for a year

My interpretation is that everything non-conference for 2028 (i.e. Notre Dame) and beyond is up in the air.

It may not matter in the end anyway if the playoff is 16 or 24 at that point.

Yeah I think it would still matter.

"Sure we only have 8 wins but we lost to Notre Dame when we could have just scheduled Lamar. Give us a break!"

Maybe he felt his role was going to change with Barnes being an up-and-coming prospect and Atkinson enrolling soon.

On Texas specifically, I think we all agree they'd be comfortably in the playoff this year if the field were 16 teams.

By expanding to 16 or even as high as 24, my guess is the majority would be more inclined to keep and/or schedule bigger non-conference games knowing they'd have more wiggle room to lose.

As an example, eight of the 24 teams in this year's FCS playoff were 8-4, with another at 8-3 and a lone 7-5.

No solution would ever completely stop ing and moaning at the end of every season, but the scrutiny over a 24-team field would be a lot less serious and possibly even better if they were to get rid of at least some of the unneccessary AQ (automatic qualifer) spots and simply use rankings.

The cries from the G5 schools would get louder with 16 teams in the playoffs when we all know we'd rather see UT in the playoffs than Tulane or James Madison.

If they aren't going to give all the G5 conference Champs auto bids then that's even more of a reason to somehow cut them out.

It's growing painfully obvious the final destination in all of this is that the SEC and Big10 will cut ties with everyone else.

They just need to split up one more time. The g5 needs to form their own playoffs. Too many teams. We all know that the step Tulane especially James Madison teams wont win it. Form their own. You saw what oregon did to liberty when liberty was the talk of the town.
