I went to see the Rolling Stones in Houston in the early '80s. Get this:

The opening act was the Fabulous Thunderbirds, followed by ZZ Top and then the Stones.

    It was great.

I made a list not too long ago and I counted up 100+ concerts I've been too, so there's too many to list here.

Also, June '06 will make my 3rd time to go the CMA Music Festival(formally known as Fan Fair) in Nashville, Tennessee.

I saw Pat Green about 18 times at the Beer Garden in Lubbock, back when he was a student at Tech. Pat actually sold me books one semester -- who knew what he'd become?

The first one I ever saw was Duran Duran in 1984. .
MAN I wish I had a chance to see Duran Duran in their glory days. SUCH an underrated band. Pretty boys or not they had some great music, and were damn good musicians. Seven and the Ragged Tiger is still one of my favorite albums...and I'm an admitted recovering headbanger.

And I still kick myself over missing Concrete Blonde the last time they came to S.A.

I hate when people name obscure bands. You know no one else has heard of them, no one is impressed.

Gah, rereading this thread got me to thinking...I knew I forgot some...

Danzig (at Sneakers...White Zombie opened and just blew Glen off the damn stage.)
    Savatage...anyone remember them?
    New York Riot
    Lynch Mob
Dangerous Toys about a hundred times. We used to joke that they must have had an apartment above Sneakers as much as they played there
Blue Oyster Cult (back when Las Emana was still cool)
Faster Pussycat (the infamous "Las Emana Riot")
Helmet...actually worked security for that one when they played at The Showcase
Galactic Cowboys...A band from Houston that coulda been HUGE if the label had pushed them
    Trouble
    Mindfunk
    London Choirboys

And some of the best local bands of the era...Prezence, Pariah, Napolean Machinegun, Thin Ice/Judge Mental, Evil Mothers, Pitbull Daycare, Petting Zoo...

    Oh yeah.
Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush...I think they opened for Nazareth one year...World Anthem is one of the absolute bestest live albums.

Somebody love on Ocotillio...thats sounds like a lineup ta die for.
    Well done.
So whats the next show to see?

Not everyone listens to the same music or grew up in the same era which is why you may never have heard of some of them. I know I've scene names of bands that I've never heard of.

My very first ever concert was Skid Row and Pantera. I loved Skid Row. That was an experience. I think I was like 10. I remember sitting up there around people smoking weed and wondering what the that aweful smell was

    Since then I've seen:
    Cheap Trick
    Lonestar
    Diamond Rio
    Brad Paisley
    Kenny Chessney
    Journey
    Chicago
    Mark Wills
    George Strait
    The Cure
Linkin Park, Snoop, Korn at the Project Revolution Tour
    Nine Inch Nails
I sooo wanted and still want to go see Counting Crows, The Killers, and U2 in concert.

and tonight I'm going to go see a Merry Kissmass with Korn, Mudvayne, and some other bands! I've been wanting to see them again!
