Do you not know that Jesus died so that you can have life and life in abundance? Wait, you believe all those who believe in Jesus should be poor because he was poor. I agree that Jesus died for our sins that we may have eternal life, but there is so much to life. I don't know if you're a father Marcus, but if you are (it goes for any father) I imagine that you want the best for your children. Same with Jesus. We see him as our Father and our Father wants the best for His children.
Am I saying that everyone who believes should drive the lastest and best vehicle and live in the best house? No. However, God is the provider and supplier of all things. Read the bible Marcus and you'll find out. I'm not trying to argue with you. Please don't misunderstand me. I am just trying to get you to see where Pastor Joel Osteen gets some of his messages from.
If you were to watch him regularly or read some of his books, you would see that there is more to him having the largest church in the US and so on.

I really wish I had the ability to piss off and inconvenience hundreds, and treat people in the service industry already piled under one of their busiest times of the year like garbage with no conscience whatsoever over something completely ridiculous, because if I had more money and I were more famous, I'd be en led to treat them that way. I agree 100%. However, what are you to do while here on earth? Live dirt poor from paycheck to paycheck? Drive broken down vehicles and live in a one bedroom house with only cold running water?

It's about losing focus. It's about a pastor who is preaching a false Gospel and apparently focused on the material. What a far cry from the Gospel. What a far cry from a Gospel that preached martyrdom and giving up the material.
John 15:18-19, "If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."
