No, I agree with you on that, but Ray isn't harmless in this; you can't just throw elbows at anyone and not expect an ass-kicking at some point. It's like throwing the bird in traffic; eventually you'll do it to the wrong person.

But, if tossing in the occassional elbow here and there without the refs seeing it, and taking a poke at a guy's stomach when he shoots a jumper gets you an edge like it did with Mario Elie and Jerome Kersey??

Yep. That's the way I was taught to play basketball. If a guy is worried that you are going to put an elbow in his ribs when both of you go up for a rebound, he's not concentrating on getting the rebound. I don't think that's what Ray Allen was doing, though. He has had delusions that he's an elite player for far too long. It looks like he'll have a month or so to watch "He got game" on DVD. As a Spurs fan who watched Bruce take those shots from Ray Ray and then listening to him talk about how dirty Bruce is, I'm glad someone finally went postal on him.No question.

Amazing because we see him make so many, Ray is actually only 90th in the league in 3G% @ 37.4%. We must remember his 3Gs and forgive/forget his Misses.
Brent, Bruce, Manu all shoot better than 3G% than Ray.

So, what kind of suspensions do you all think they are they looking at?
I vaguely remember that when Stern justified keeping out Artest for the year, he said that involving the fans in an altercation at any level, deliberate or not, would result in harsh punishment. I guess we shall see, and anything less than 30 games or so will probably bring Artest out of hiding to vent.
I still haven't seen the clip, so i'm not sure how serious it was.
