81 points is nice, but it's not a "where were you" type deal
i should do that too, its historic.
81 points is nice, but it's not a "where were you" type deal
Better than Magic?????? LMAO!!!!
Either Shaq or Magic or Kareem would be considered the best ever.
2nd most points scored in a game in NBA History, that is pretty damn amazing.
i would say magic or kareem.
History of the league? Was Wilt not playing in the NBA when he scored 100?
When I saw the le of this thread I thought Kobe was vacationing in Colorado again.
No one, has EVER scored 80 points in a professional NBA basketball game.81 points is nice, but it's not a "where were you" type deal
EVER.
Second most points EVER.
Did magic ever take over a game, to the point of dominating and scoring 70 or 80?!?!Better than Magic?????? LMAO!!!!
Like it or not, Kobe Bryant, should be considered as one of the best EVER, to put on the purple and gold.
Most points in the history of the Lakers organization, 2nd most points in the history of the NBA
Come on Ed, lose the hate. When I saw the le of this thread I thought Kobe was vacationing in Colorado again.
Ive moved on, and I apreciate what hes done tonight.
Innocent until proven guilty, and last I checked, the charges were dropped, by the state, not the girl.
Kobe can be considered one of the best ever to wear the purple and gold....but not better than players like Shaq, Magic, or Kareem.
The difference here is that Magic would have gotten every starting player on the court 20+ points, instead of having to score 80 himself.
Lamar Odom would be the left handed second coming of James Worthy is Magic were on the floor for this team.
He scored 100 and 78.History of the league? Was Wilt not playing in the NBA when he scored 100?
Never 80.
No one has EVER scored 80.
Take the blindfold off for a minute and soak it in.
debateable about Kareem and Magic.but not better than players like Shaq, Magic, or Kareem
But Shaq, in all his "dominance" never got close to 80.
well 100 is technically more than 80.....
Dude, you're a Laker fan and you're hating? Just enjoy a historic performance.
Can I change my name to Kobe_is_god...
HOLY ! That was incredible.
magic took games over in differnet ways. With Magic it was a lot more than his scoring that made him so great.
yes it is.well 100 is technically more than 80.....
and?
The guys on that team must be bored sh!tless standing around watching him "hog the ball".
If, by some miracle, the Fakers make it in the playoffs don't think for one minute that Kobe will be able to dominate the game or the ball the same way he does during the regular season.
Anybody see the Phoenix/Fakers game the other night? The Suns pretty much neutralized him.
you do realize this is just a basketball game. it's more like, gee whiz kobe scored 80?!?!
usually a where were you association is related to a traumatic event, or something earth shaking. the way kobe was jacking up shots is was bound to happen sometime

Los Angeles 122, Toronto 104
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kobe Bryant scored a staggering 81 points -- the second-highest total in NBA history -- and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors 122-104 Sunday night.
With the fans at Staples Center chanting "MVP! MVP!" Bryant made two free throws with 43.4 seconds remaining for his final points, putting him behind only Wilt Chamberlain on the all-time scoring list.
Chamberlain scored 100 points for Philadelphia against the New York Knicks at Hershey, Pa., on March 2, 1962. His second-highest total was 78 against the Lakers in three overtimes on Dec. 8, 1961.
"I couldn't even dream of this when I was a kid," Bryant said. "There was no way possible."
Bryant left to a standing ovation with 4.2 seconds remaining, having shot 28-of-46 from the floor and 18-of-20 from the foul line.
Elgin Baylor held the previous franchise record of 71 points at New York on Nov. 15, 1960.
Michael Jordan's career high was 69 points, and only three players had ever scored more than 70 -- Chamberlain, Baylor, and David Robinson.
The 27-year-old Bryant made it four.
He played nearly 42 minutes, going the entire second half until being lifted by coach Phil Jackson. He scored 27 points in the third quarter and 28 more in the fourth.
Bryant scored 62 points during a 112-90 victory over Dallas last month, but sat out the fourth quarter because of the one-sided nature of the game.
The REASON, this means so much, is that Kobe Bryant is not like 8 foot 5 and able to score whenever he wants.
Hes 6'7 6'8. He can have an equally heighted player guard him.
Wilt had 6 foot 8 white farmer boys guarding him.
Kobe has all world players guarding him.
Thats why, this means that much.
As a laker fan do i like the fact that the laker team watches Kobe go off and is stagnant, not really but this is historic, i will enjoy it.
As far as Lamar Odom goes, its not Kobe hindering him, its Lamar needing to step up, adidas that shouldnt be a knock on Kobe.
Needless to say this was ing amazing...
Lot of haters in here, eh?
funny how tpark loves kobe but hates "thugs" like iverson.
how easily one is fooled by image.
the mamba truly struck with terrible precision this evening...
