Well it must have been in a publication that wasn't available in San Antonio, because I follow the Spurs about as closely as anyone and through the countless Spurs/Lakers playoff battles and regular season games, I don't recall Kobe Bryant ever saying anything about Bruce Bowen being dirty. He's said that he's tough, but not dirty. The same is true of a number of great scorers -- you don't hear complaints about Bowen from Tracy McGrady, for example.
I can't believe you're dropping "typical Spurs fan" smack around here, either. We watch Bruce Bowen all the time; we know who complains about him; we watch those matchups and can see for ourselves what Bowen does and does not do; we know that Ray Allen and Vince Carter are pussies who whine and complain about Bowen to the officials and to the media because they can't do their thing offensively in the face of Bowen's defense. It's blame-shifting, and it's never been legitimate.
And I'd strongly suggest that you pull off the Mavs-colored shades in offering your recollection of the Bowen/Finley incident. I was in the building and watched it myself and it was purely retaliation on Bowen's part. It might not have been the most prudent thing for him to do, but it wasn't something that Bowen instigated.
Welcome to the board, but I'd suggest that you be reluctant to make broad generalizations about the people who post here. You can ask the Pistons fans who have stayed here -- we talk good hoops, but we don't suffer fools. Bring some game and you'll have lots of fun.
