Pretty sick early april fools joke
Hopefully this lights a fire under his ass`
Knowing the Spurs, they tried to trade Barry for an expiring contract.
Man... that trade fell through faster than you can catch, turn and shoot.
This ought to do wonders for his morale/confidence.
Maybe Manute Bol's contract is still lying around...
Why would it have to be Golden State anyway?
Certainly not Fisher's.
Prob because it came from the Warriors' flagship station.
I asked the same thing. His dad just happens to be in SF.
Barry knows himself he hasn't produced. He's even said it himself. The only reason I'd want Barry to stay is because he is a great locker room guy. He hasn't caught on to the offensive system. He seems hesistant when he has the opportunity to shoot. I guess he'd rather pass to Tony, Manu, or Tim and not get looked at for missing a scoring opportunity.
It wouldn't have been to Golden State. It was on SF radio because that's where Rick Barry works. Golden State fans were just hoping that the deal was for Derek Fisher.
10 bucks says that it only took .4 seconds to kill the deal.
But Rick didn't know, he just called the station - doesn't he live in the bay area?
That one fell through because another one is going through![]()
He's apparently a host on the station.
My money's on Harpring, just because I could get a kluby.
He hosts a show on that station, Chump.
Great more speculation. Didn't the deadline pass like an hour ago?
Any deal w/the Warriors probably fell through when Nesterovic was offered for Murphy.
Moving Barry would seem to be a necessary step in any move to acquire either Tim Thomas or Latrell Sprewell. If that's what the Spurs have in mind, I doubt that they were offering much resistance in any negotiations; though I'm sure they weren't (aren't) going to take a hideous contract back.
Hmmm...I think the Spurs would add Spree or Thomas regardless of what happens with Barry. I do agree that Barry would be moved for a shorter contract.
Oh Well. No Use In Talking About It Now. It Fell Through I Guess.
I could see that having Barry around wouldn't necessarily be an impediment to acquiring those guys, but I'd think the optimal decision would be to move a wing to reduce the clutter before bringing in one of those guys.
There is no way the Spurs would add that much salary for Brent (talking about Fisher). We all know they would be looking for an expiring contract or a young SF.
