    I wouldnt have believed that statement until today.

    I think youre spot on.

    (to be fair to Nash, he isnt the one trumpeting his own horn...in typical classy Canadian fashion, he always passes praise onto his teammates)

    The knock against Marion is that he doesn't have the ability to take over a game. He's an efficient finisher, rebounder, free-throw shooter, etc., but he never really imposes his will on the opposing team. An important quality of an MVP is that ability to demoralize the other team through domination.

    Billups vs. Nash in the 2 head to head games:
    Billups: 31 ppg (55.3% shooting), 8 apg
    Nash: 15.5 ppg (35.5% shooting), 8.5 apg

    But I guess MVP's don't have to play defense.
