I think the posters had a vaild point. WIth all davids money you would think he wouldn't be buying conterfit quality stuff. Maybe he just had an assitant of his buy it so it is all right then.

At worst, it's a replica, and the labels look like it's an authentic game jersey.
I sure miss the guy out on the court!
I cannot wait to watch him get into the Hall.
And I cannot believe Spurs fans are cursing Dave. If it wasnt for him, we would not have the 3 rings we have. "Thanks to you, Admiral!"
I agree with the point about connecting on a human level and doing away with the Celebrity pedestal, if anything the parent should tell the kid to respect their space, which I think most fans do...but not all autograph seekers are looking for a buck, they just want a memento of their favorite players. I don't think we need to cheapen autograph seeking of kids and ardent fans who are willing to wait in line before games. It's still a gesture of appreciation. Besides, how many 6 year old fans from SA gonna be able to hold a conversation with Tim Duncan, Manu , or Parker?
The guy saying " David Robinson" should know there's a time and a place for that stuff. Which was weird because he admitted he understood why...so who's guilty of harping en lement? David trying to enjoy the game of his son like a regular schmoe or a guy bitter cuz a celebrity refused to give his an autograph to his kid brother on his off time.
I'd be shocked if it wasn't authentic, and I'd be shocked if David got it from any source other than the Spurs -- if David Robinson asks whomever orders jerseys to order him a #20 jersey, that jersey gets ordered.
That jersey looks like the one I have. It is black and white, no silver at at. It is made by Reebok and I believe is from the same line as those all black jerseys. These are black and white, regardless of team colors. I got mine at Academy.
And that's the problem I have with the modern autograph mentality.
DRob's not perfect. I'm sure he'll readily admit that. Glad we got that out of the way.
Anyways, it's awesome to see him at home games. For someone who supposedly doesn't care about basketball...
So the man does one thing you don't like and forget all the good he has done and condemn him? Besides, where is it written that any celebrity has to sign an autograph?
We would for sure have one
Speaking of Shaq's book... I remember him saying in his book that when he was younger he would get tickets to Spurs games and him and his friends would sit all the way up in the nose bleed section... this was obviously impossible due to the fact that Shaq's rookie year was the year before the Alamodome even opened.
Worst post in the history of SpursTalk.com.
How old is he there, twelve??nice find
I'm won't be surprised if Manu, at that time, also got refused an autograph by mean Mr. Robinson , but you don't see him whining about it today..do you??
Not on the offensive end. On the defensive end, however...he contested what would've been the game-winning shot for the Mavs.
sorry but 12 year olds automatically have the right to ask anyone famous for an autograph
drob should've signed it for him, but that doesnt warrant him to hold long-term hatred for the guy.

nice one.
Uh David Robinson does things for 12 year olds like pay for their College Education and open schools for them to go to...
The reebok jerseys typically have the reebok logo under Jerry West on the left shoulder. My Gino ili jersey is a reebok, which is probably why the B peeled off the back.
So what? You know how much you can get for a college education on Ebay?
I had the chance to meet David 4 times and actually talk to him.
It didn't even come up in my mind to ask for an autograph.
Instead he asked about my trip and how I liked San Antonio and I asked him about the Carver Academy and the playoffs and we got to know each other a little better.
I do have 50 autographs of the man in my collection, byt none were asked by me. Most I get from eBay and some from friends who got it directly from David for me.
And about the LakerHater in here.....nevermind.

That's one of the classiest things I have seen in a long time. But, then, they don't come much classier than David Robinson.
Me, too. All I could see was the "0" on the number because the microphone and reporter were in the way. It was heartwarming to see the "2" when the guy moved aside. I LOVE David Robinson.
Dos
He didn't. He bought a percentage of the San Antonio Spurs. Nothing more genuine or bonafide than that. Who the cares where he got the Manu jersey? I would be really surprised if it were not given to him (or possibly his sons) by the guy who wears the number.
That's not always the purpose for asking someone for an autograph. I met Merlin Olsen on the cog railroad train at Pike's Peak once when I was on a trip to Colorado. My sister is not just a sports enhusiast, she's a fanatic in the truest sense of the word. Her memorabilia collection is incredible, but you know what? She never thinks of how much something is worth, only how much it means to her. I got Merlin Olsen's autograph for her (he was happy to sign it) and she was thrilled. She salted that thing away in her sports room that our family calls her "damn museum". Someday, someone may put that thing on eBay because it doesn't mean the same thing to them that it means to her, but she would never do it.
