    Delusions of granduer...

Remember, before Kurt Thomas went down, John Hollinger had Phoenix rated as a top-5 adjusted defense. I believe they were even top-2 ranked for a while.

When the Suns get their starting frontcourt back, we'll talk.

Until then, the Suns are still playing with their bench while the Kings are sitting hope with their starters.

I thought the point was to win? Until the purpose of the NBA season is changed to being the best defensive team, I don't think fans of a team ousted from the playoffs can talk smack about a team still in the playoffs.
i dont care what that stat freak john hollinger said. even with kurt thomas the suns played no defense and gave up layup after layup. i can talk smack about the suns because i know they wont win a le with the way they play.

My guess is they figure FG% allowed higher than PPG allowed and other miscelaneous stats since tempo directly affects the latter more than anything.
JM, if that defensive efficiency is silmar to the one that ranked the Suns this season then it's a decieving formula - guessing it is. Remember before KT went down the Suns were #1 or #2 based on that formula.

However, defense will always/generally be judged on three things - Points given up, FG %, and rebounds.

By the way, how much do average tickets run for the Suns games? How far is the arena from Tempe? I'm moving out to AZ next semester to finish off at ASU and need some advice.
Not the person to ask as I don't live in the Valley.

    Best ask Bill

Seriously... He went to ASU, so I figure he's willing to hook up a fellow Devil.
I don't feel like dealing with his carnage.
What's wrong Colonel Sanders can't have a regular discussion because you're insulted by BBall debate? Tisk, tisk...

Anyway... Suns Tix are some of the highest in town. An upper deck - depending on local - will run @ $28-$40 and they only go up from there. Those prices are for crappy sections too.
    http://www.seats3d.com/nba/phoenix_suns/

Tempe is a great city - you'll love it. The scenery is mighty fine if you catch my drift ;-)
The arena is about 15min from Tempe once on the freeway.

JM, i never "formally" attended ASU. I'm just native to Tempe and have been supporting ASU since i was knee high to a keg.

You know what though? I think that's part of the master plan, which sounds so ridiculous because it should never be able to work, but look at them! They took the 3rd seed in the compe ive West, they won two 7 game series (and you'd have to think their legs would tire after that with only a 7 man rotation), and they lead off the WCF with a road win. There's something weird about that team. They turn just about every philosophy about winning in the NBA on it's head. Just ing bizarre. I still don't think they'll win this series, but just to be where they are is amazing.
The Suns are a bunch of Idiots. And in that sense i'm comparing them to the BoSox of a few years ago, when they won the le; just didn't care. They're just 'ballin and having fun. It's crazy.

That three days of rest may have recharged them enough for one last run. It can't be explained, just watch and enjoyed.

wasnt that a regular season game? im just glad your lakers choked for once.
I'll take that as a compliment.

Stick around, maybe you can learn some class from a great organization like the spurs, the only true rivalry my lakers have had since 98-99.

This coming from a guy who's Coach called Sac a cowtown and compared Adelman to Hitler? Please, you have no right to talk about class.

Oh, he'll be back and with a shinny new jersey #!

Ya know someone else in recent Suns history wore #1 and he wasn't worth a penny! Odd # choice.

Its all over the Kings boards right now, and coming from a pretty reliable source. It is supposed to be announced after this holiday weekend.

At least Artest has given him his endorsement. I guess that is a positive.

So is he going to bail on the monarchs just as the season gets started? Still seems like an odd choice considering they've been asking teams for persmission to talk to their people.

The Kings have the second longest playoffs streak going right now behind the Spurs. When your team accomplishes that, we will talk.
The Suns have made the playoffs 16 of the last 18 years with one finals appreance and four more Western Conference Finals appearances (five if you count the year they made the finals).

The Kings have made the playoffs 8 consecutive seasons with only one Western Conference Finals appearance (and only 9 total playoff appearances in the last 20 seasons).

Hm... I wonder which team has accomplished more...

That does suck for the Monarchs. It does seem odd to me as well. I was hoping for Mario Elie.

Have any WNBA coaches ever made this transition?

While that is a "franchise" le, Sactown fans have zero reason claim to it as their "own". Heck they weren't even called the "Kings" back then and they've had four city names.

For any sacramento fan to claim that le as their own is a losing argument.

    From http://www.nba.com/kings/history/team_history.html

"The franchise's glory years are now a distant memory."

Holy cow you're own website disses the team.

Afterall this thread is about the Kings, not the Royals from the late 40's/early50's. Were any of you there to partake in the celebration? Nope. And, the SACRAMENTO Kings barely have anything. Maybe they should change their name to the Vagabons after the move.

This thread is one Kings fan claiming the Kings>Suns, which is just flat out looney anyway you look at it.

They above poster asked which team has accomplished more. So even if you discount that le, which I only threw in there for s and giggles, both teams have won squat. So I'd say its a draw.

His track record is quite good. I don't know if he can earn the respect of male basketball players though, having never played himself and coached women the last 4 years.

As long as Artest is happy though, it should work out.

I wonder if he'll try and incorporate his white line defense that worked so well for the Monarchs.

it would probably be easier than trying to put a female coach in. if he can coach, he can coach.
