Exactly!
Wade was guarded by one person in the finals? If you think that it proves you weren't actually watching. I started this thread just to kind of with you but you keep coming up with reasons for me to defend Wade. It's funny how a slasher that plays alongside Shaq ends up being called the best young player in the game three times in a row. Surely that's not a coincidence.
Exactly!
The problem when it comes to comparing Kobe to any other NBA player (past or present) is that people often let his off court drama and personality diffuse his actual basketball talent. It's true that Wade single handedly won Miami the championship this season, yet you have to look at who they were playing. Dallas, for all their qualms about improving their defense is still an average defensive team at best. Even Kobe managed to outscore this Dallas team after 3 quarters all by himself.
If you look at the overall picture, I have to say that Kobe Bryant is the better player. He can defend, he can hit the 3 pointer, he can pass if he chooses to, and he can score 81 points at will if he chooses to. Wade showed his clutchness and drive in these last four games of the playoffs, however, people are forgetting that Kobe showed the same thing during the Lakers 3-peat run. I still remember those Spurs/Lakers playoff games where it was Kobe who hurt us even more than Shaq.
Bottom line, if I'm an opposing team and I have to deal with a "hot" Kobe vs. a "hot" Wade, I'd be more scared of Kobe.
Dwayne Wade may be better than Kobe Bryant & Michael Jordan but no way is he better than Tony Parker!
You don't think that all of the attention was focused on Wade.
Did you not watch the Finals?
Remember game 5 where they trade to guard Wade with 4 players and failed?
Wade averaged about 40 points a game in the last 4 games.
Shaq averaged 14 points and 10 boards a game. Pretty modest contribution.
Shaq<Kaman now.
Kobe did this when Shaq was his monstrous self. Now, he has been emasculated.
Wade won playing alongside a very average center. Kobe won and put up points alongside a monster.
Big difference.

When Kobe wins a ring with a very average to mediocre center, I'll consider your point.
Until then with very average, mediocre centers the score is
Wade 1 and Kobe 0
Or we can phrase it like this: how many Finals MVPs does Kobe have? How many will he ever have?
And he has been in the league a pretty long time already. Its the mileage not the years.
And he's a guard where quickness and athleticism are even more important.
The flash vs substance is funny:
who has the best midrange bank shot in the game?
It's Wade by a mile.
That's substance.
That's fundamental and consistent.
Kobe>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wade
Kobe w/ teammates<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Wade w/ teammates
The Fans Speak...
1.Dwyane Wade
2. LeBron James
3. Kobe Bryant![]()
4. Allen Iverson
5. Shaquille O'Neal
6. Stephon Marbury
7. Tracy McGrady
8. Vince Carter
9. Carmelo Anthony
10. Dirk Nowitzki![]()
basketball is a team game and winning championships is the measuring stick and Wade was the Finals MVP and the reason why Miami won the Finals
with the Lakers when they won, it was not primarily because of Kobe and that's why Shaq got the MVP and not Kobe
Kobe was Robin and Shaq was Batman
Now,
Wade is Batman and Shaq is Robin.
Where's Manu and Tim?
Thankfully, popularity contests prove nothing about greatness...
Manu, this year, didn't belong there. Most of the year, Tim marginally belonged. In the playoffs, Tim did belong there.
Perhaps at the bottom of the ladder, there is more room for varied opinions. Probably at the top, if someone is not around there, there's a reason.
In any event, it's certainly not my argument and I agree that it has flaws.
Dude you have some serious ing man love for Kobe Bryant. Is it just because he made your team his so many times or what?
man love? i hate him more then any spurs fan alive for the reason you just stated dumb . but unlike your re ed ass i recognize greatness when i see it. i think you made this thread for attention and sadly you got it.
im still trying to figure out how this thread got to 4 ing pages. especially when its started by one of the dumbest people on the forum.
I made this thread to illustrate how ing stupid you are for calling people names that have an opinion that differs from yours. You reinforce that stupidity with every subsequent post. Ray Allen made your team his in the playoffs two years ago, is he the second best player in the league? Don't forget to spew as much venom as possible at anyone who happens not to agree with you, .
Well it couldn't have anything to do with the fact that you have posted to it fourteen times.![]()
im trying to change your dumb ways.
Fifteen times, and I don't think you've failed to insult someone who disagrees with you in a single post.
Yeah, how dare someone disagree with you on a discussion board.![]()
i didnt call them names because they had different opinions. i called them names because they didnt just say wade was a better they said a whole bunch of other dumb that didnt make any sense. im calling you names because every name that i have called you SO FAR is exactly what the you are.
thats not why i called them names. what are you 5? stop being so damn sensitive. you made this thread because of me saying things to other dumb posters like yourself?
