They sign him on July 8.
I'm sorry Bruno, but you couldn't be more wrong on this. Spurs have scouts crawling all over that place watching games and going to practices when they can.
When an undrafted player is doing great in SL, he receives an offer from the first team who gives him one.
It wasn't SL, but the Spurs had Haslem playing on their RMR squad a couple of years ago, Miami showed up and handed him a contract, and he was on a plane to Miami the next day.

We certainly could've offered a deal as well, the fact is Sacramento was on him right after the draft.
Not us.
Sacramento offered him a deal for a SL and a deal for LV is better than a deal for RMR.
Maybe I'm wrong but if a player plays great and received more than one offer, he will sign with the team for who he plays. If the team for who he plays doesn't want him, other teams can get him but my point is that the team for who he plays has a kind of priority on the player.
You act like we offerrred him something. There's nothing to indicate we did.Sacramento offered him a deal for a SL and a deal for LV is better than a deal for RMR.
I haven't a clue if we did.
I just say that if we want to get after a top undrafted guy, a RMR invitation is less atractive than a LV invitation. A team that play in LV has a edge on us.
There was nothing stopping us from giving him a deal on July 6 or 7.
Before the LV SL ?
It started the 6th.
Sure we can offer a contract before Sacramento but it will be based on less games.
My knowledge of SL is weak but I haven't the memory of a player signing with another team while the team for who he plays is interested in him.
You're wrong. He can sign with whoever he wants in that situation.
I know there isn't a rule in the cba, but I think too that there are a kind gentleman rule (and I know that nba is a business) : the player give the priority to the team that gave him a chance to play in a SL.
Right, just like they see how much money a team has for free agency and always offer to take half so that the team can sign another player to make it better.
Except that the player didn't lose money by giving the priority to the team for who he plays.
The Mavs are getting owned in two leagues now.
The Lakers beat them 97-69 at the Pyramid.
Maybe this thread should remained pinned for the rest of eternity.

There's a DeAngelo Collins sighting - he pulled down some boards for the Mavs.
I'd give Marcus Douthit a look if the Lakers don't pick him up.
Douthit was good the last time I watched him play. Problem is, I don't know if the Spurs would go for a guy dumb enough to get arrested for being caught in an iden y theft scam.![]()
I thought it was insurance fraud, but I see your point.
Looks like he did a little bit of everything.Marcus Douthit, a second-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers out of Providence College, was charged on Thursday with taking part in a wide-ranging iden y theft and embezzlement scam and pocketing several thousand dollars.
Summer league. Enough said.
Yes, it's a thread about summer league.
Orlando's summer league has a live webcam covering the games if anyone is interested.

Walter Hermann is listed as playing for the Bobcats against Miami currently.
Mavs get owned again - this time by Houston. Both teams played their main guys over 30 minutes. Sometimes they take these games seriously.
LaMarcus leads his team in rebounds and assists against Minnesota, whawhaaaat
He's playing like a pansy too![]()
