As far as the topic of this thread, to me, watching porn is not cheating. I like to think of it this way: playing video games where you kill people doesn't make you a criminal, it's just fantasy ... fake ... not real. As porn is. And we all have fantasies, 'tis true.

I often times wonder about that too... if the whole thing is a deception. Besides, even if it is the real deal the story that is written in the current printed versions of the book have passed down from word of mouth, numerous translations, and have been told numerous ways for almost two thousand years. No way it can still be accurate. If I told one person a story now and had them tell 10 others - the last person would get a slightly different story with a slightly different meaning.

Your partner may begin to question why they cannot fufill your sexual fantasies - as if something is missing in the relationship. This can lead to the same type of inadequate feelings that cheating causes. It can lead to the same type of trust issues because there's been a concealment of a part of potential issues in the relationship. What other lengths are you going to in order to fulfill your sexual appe e?

The two people I know - in my initial example - have experienced very painful break-ups and they have needed counselling for their dysfunction. Porn can be addictive and it was for these two guys. It is a warning for anyone out there who may be reading this that you should evaluate what your sexual relationship is based on. If it has gotten to the point that you cannot be satisfied sexually without porn or the visualization of someone other than your partner, you should either remove yourself (detox) from the addictive material for a period of time to see if that can help, or seek assistance with the problem rather than let it break up a marriage.
