The Spurs arent the team they used to be yet you ers hold onto this false hope that one day it will revert back that way. Your d is soft and anything but physical. Teams know how to attack it now especially the Mavs. Manu will be nowhere near the elite 05 version, Parker is up and coming and Duncan is Duncan but that isnt enough. Your bench ing blows donkey and your coach loves bending over for Avery. Rebounding is a serious issue as well. You guys had your fun in the sun but it is over with now. You had your chance to be a "dynasty" after 05 and couldnt do it and it goes downhill from here Spurs fans. I wouldnt be shocked if we ended your season in 5 games or even a sweep due to gaining serious experience last year.

I think that right now the Mavericks are playing better than the Spurs. DUH that's no secret. I am worried about the Spurs but I'm glad they're struggling now and not in two months(although who knows?). This Mavs-Spurs game is gonna be a lot of fun but it will just serve as another look of what awaits in the real deal, which is the WCFinals or Semis. Mavericks fans have the right to claim they're the better team because right now they are, they have the right to claim they're gonna beat us again because they've done it before. But they don't have any right to underestimate the Spurs because we have owned them before and had it not been for one Manu foul maybe we still would. And the championships talk stands because we have three and they've been recent, it hasn't been a decade like some guy tried to make the analogy with the Cowboys, who have five. Another thing is that not only do the Mavs have no championships but they BLEW a sure championship last year. I have not seen that kind of meltdown in a bigger stage before in the NBA.
This is all recent stuff so Mavs you can talk with us right now that you might be better than us but don't come around underestimating the Spurs or telling us that the Mavericks being superior is just a FACT because that is just wishful thinking. Come May both these teams will be different, they will have gone different processes, and who knows? maybe someone on your team will have to live with what Manu lived with after his 3-point play on Dirk. I'm not gonna discuss refs here because it doesn't matter anymore, but I truly hope that one does not greatly influence the outcome of any of those playoff games. Sweeping the Spurs? please 5 games? come on, show a little more respect for the team that's been there before and that has beaten you more times that you've beaten them. The Mavs took a huge step by beating the big brother Spurs last year, but don't think it's definite, the big brother Spurs are still there with their core intact.
Now let's have an effin' blast Friday. Go Spurs Go!!!
p.s. Dirk and Duncan? please that is just not fair to compare, they're both just so different and so great on different facets. The discussion will get much interesting though when and if Dirk wins a ring by leading his Mavs.

I am a Mavs fan but I have a good friend here who is a Spurs fan -- we often watch the games together, so I have seen many of your games.
Friday night should be an obvious Spurs win. The Mavs are travelling to Indy today and will be on the second night of a back-to-back on the road.
The Spurs will be at home with a nights rest after losing to one Eastern playoff team and one very marginal Western team. Tim has also expressed his interest in winning this game as a statement.
The Spurs should win by a large margin. If they squeak out a victory, the Spurs fans here should be concerned, and, if the Mavs win, it would be a signal for serious problems in SA. Pop certainly loves to peak near the playoffs, but I believe that he will be pushing hard for a victory on Friday.
