Terry & Howard both carry the ball a lot as well. A lot of players do in the league though. I've never understood why the league allows this to go on. It definitely gives you an advantage.
Well Stackhouse is playing some serious ball right now so maybe he is redeeming himself of the label chemistry-killer.

I agree, but I'm not going to "buy" it just yet until it gets to the playoffs... right now, I'll keep him as a "hold" for role of teamplayer.
Yeah, I know... I've just decided they're never going to call it, so I don't get angry anymore... Barbosa carries sometimes too, so it's a trade off.
Two plays that piss me off the most: Terry does that 3-step spot up jumper move (like he's at the 3pt line and then carries the ball, and hops forward but doesn't dribble, so the defender backs off which creates enough space for him to get off the 3).... and ones where Howard doesn't use the carry to his advantage in a drive, but he's dribbling in place and will hold the ball for like 2 seconds before he puts it down again.
There are players on all the teams that get away with carrying the ball.
Actually, Howard and/or Terry get called for it most games. It's usually Howard that gets called for it and it's never called again in that game.
Stack's been a model teammate, leader and sixth man for 3 years running now, and he's helped give us a measure of toughness that we didn't have previously. He's at a point in his career where he cares more about winning than he does about being the "Man" on ty teams. Avery has a way of getting guys to buy what he's selling.
EXACTLY...no idea where RonMexico is coming from on his Stack HSO's...
Stack has been alot better than I ever expected him to be...but there are still times when he thinks he's the star of this team, and he goes nuts, throwing up junk shots like he's Gilbert Arenas. It's happening less and less, but until those bad streaks are completely gone from his game, I'll always be wary of him, especially in the playoffs. He's the one guy on the team that could shoot us out of a game in the playoffs, he's done it before but hopefully never again.
That's not grounds for "alpha dog" status. The 'best ing team in the league" isn't decided until June, sparky.
terrible loss and terrible effort by the Lakers. Walton, Odom, and Parker being out hurt, but they still should have been more compe ive than that. Kobe played like , he couldn't hit anything. Look out when this team gets healthy though, I think that they will make some noise in the post season. I'm not sure if they are ready to go all the way, but I didn't think that Miami had a chance last season either. Once everyone is healthy, this is a dangerous team in the playoffs.
Yeah, and until you beat us in the playoffs again, we own you until then too.
Why is Smush still with the Lakers? From all reports, he has become a cancer. Just release his ass and be done with him!
I quit watching this game after the 2nd quarter.
wow, the mavs flew their own dance team to l.a......and then they played the cavs right after the lakers!
I don't know man - I think your boy monosyb... whatever it is agrees with me a little bit. I'm basically saying you think he can be a model teammate and then he goes and pulls a stunt like last year in the WCSF where he passes up a wide open 2 that can tie the game and runs backwards for a contested 3 pointer that barely grazes the rim. Then he acts all tough in the locker room with crap like "I felt like it was a good look for 3." Teamplayers would apologize to their teammates and admit publicly that they want to try harder... maybe he did that behind closed doors, but I can only go off what I saw/heard.
When Kobe has an off day it can get ugly very quick. Once we're healthy we'll have a better understanding of this team. I doubt we can win it all, but I am sure we can play spoiler in the playoffs.

Stack is not even close to being a problem on this team. He, JET & Dirk are the unquestioned leaders of this team. If anyone thinks otherwise, then they are just wrong. All that's ever written (by the local media) or said by his teammates & coaches in regards to Stack is ultra-positive.
RonMexico just has a problem with both Stack & Howard and that's ok but he's wrong about Stack.
In regards to Stack's play on the court. He will shoot 2 for 14 once every 6th game or so but his contributing games off the bench far outnumber his bad games. Yes, he will continue to shoot even when he's off but he's a scorer and they want him to continue to shoot. I'm not sure that many people realize how valuable he is coming off the bench. He's instant offense and can create his own shot (usually high % shot) against just about anyone in the league. He will play big minutes in the playoffs as Avery has been limiting his minutes to no more than 25 minutes/game most of the season to save him for the playoffs.
Stack is not even a main piece on this team. Who cares if he's a cancer. He's not asked to lead.
Do you think Stack is a key piece to your team? Deciding between winning it all and losing?
Absolutely! He's the Mav's 6th man and will actually end up playing starter's minutes in the playoffs. He will be in the playoffs games at the end most of the time. The Mavs could possibly win the le this season w/o Stack but I would doubt it.
Let me also say that I was not very happy when they brought him in here. I was hoping they'd move him shortly thereafter. I was aware of his past but he's just not that way anymore and has taken to his role as the 6th man along with becoming a vocal leader that Avery asked him to be.
Well that's my point I don't see how a 6th man could be a cancer. I think that word gets tossed around to quick. You don't have to like your teammates to win. I think that term only applies to key, main contributers to a team. I don't see how Stack could be a cancer when you have Terry, Dirk, Howard, and then Avery as your coach. If you don't win it's not because Stack was a cancer.
Avery wouldn't allow a "cancer" on his team. Avery is a hard ass and a fairly strick disciplinarian...if some people were not aware.
I have also noticed that Howard carries the ball. As for Terry he seems to take extra steps and carry the ball. I thought the league was gonna start enforcing it more this year.
