Oh, man. Good thing the Spurs never got him to back up Tony, then. That would have started a fan civil war.
The way Pepe Sanchez played in the World Championships, there's no reason he shouldn't be a viable NBA player (again).
After all, he did work on his jumpshot... his notorious weakness during his stint in the NBA. The guy can flatout run a team. I'll go on the record again to state that the Sanchez >>> Beno.
Oh, man. Good thing the Spurs never got him to back up Tony, then. That would have started a fan civil war.
124 Dominicans in MLB
5 Dominicans in the NBA
1 Dominican in the NFL
130 professional athletes.
9,000,000 total population minus 4,500,000 females minus 2,000,000 males under age 18 minus 2,000,000 males over age 40 = 500,000 males between 18 and 40
One out of every 3,800 Dominican males between age 18 and 40 is playing professional sports in the US.

Canadians, like Nash, count as international players?
That just doesn't seem right, IMO.
Now, if they're French-Canadian, that's another story.
Why shouldn't it count? He was born in South Africa and moved to Canada when he was 2 and lived there until he went off to college. He's definitely an international player.
But he doesnt shoot like he does
(firearms, not the rock)
And he was a soccer player. Definitely a foreigner.
Compare that to:
One out of every 75,000,000 Chinese
One out of every 3,000,000 Brazilians
One out of every 1,200,000 French
One out of every 830,000 Mexicans
One out of every 750,000 Argentines
One out of every 500,000 Australians
One out of every 175,000 Serbian
One out of every 95,000 Lithuanians
One out of every 75,000 Venezuelans
One out of every 50,000 Slovenians
One out of every 33,500 Americans
One out of every 3,800 Dominicans
What else is there to do on that island?
Finland shouldn't be bad with the NHL.
And how do you figure that only 1/9 th of the entire male population is between 18-40?
Grow sugar.
you forget 99.9% of the above play soccer. and tons and tons play it professionally in Europe.
there are THOUSANDS of both Brazilian + Argentine professional players in Europe alone. It's crazy the athlete machines those 2 countries are.
Because we are killed if we don't play baseball.
Exactly...WTF is the point of wearing those things?
If you're going to honor something by adding a little patch, WTF...I don't know, it just seems like a re ed idea.
By the le, I expected some mariachi-looking uniforms.
I'm very happy to see the Brazil flag in the Spurs uni
I think that 1/9th fraction is pretty low. I would guess it's more like the neighborhood of 25-40% of all males in that age range.
1 out of every 2 Brazilians is playing professional soccer in the world.
I think it's about 17-18% in the U.S. (In 2000, ~23.5 million males were between 18-40 out of ~138M total males).

The Spurs could just bring over Scola and wear Argentina jerseys.
DR is 33-38% < 14 years old.
So not exactly sure of number of 18 to 40 males. Most likely 500K to 1M, although I never claimed we do math on that island.

Yeah, I would expect things would be shifted towards a younger distribution in the DR.
Notice you didn't count boxers.
Very true. The Express-News had a layout of all the possible uniforms....it was scary. It was a near miss. The black side panels with silver trim very, very nearly were going to be vertical stripes of turquoise, fuchsia, and orange instead.
Big news up here. He played at Grand Ledge High School in this area and his dad still lives here. In fact, according to the sportscasters up here...his full name is "ex-Grand Ledge star Al Horford"And coming to an NBA Lottery team near you:
Al Horford![]()
Wish we could find that article from the Express news.
