Junior owned Cubes on that one
Michael Irvin calling in last week was tense...he was a little pissed...![]()
How bout after a Mavs game when Junior made the very obvious claim that the Mavs would never win until they got better defensively and copied the Spurs formula, and the REAL Mark Cuban called in to tell him that he was "on crack" and that Dallas' all-offense/no-defense style would win eventually.

Not a candidate.
Yeah to you SA and Austin guys, don't listen to Galloway....biggest idiot on earth. Whomever thinks he is entertaining is an idiot too. The only thing saving him is the espn guests that get built into the espn name. The guy can barley create a sentence let alone make a coherent thought.
Current credible names on ESPN? Dale Hansen (a jerk, but come on, he knows what he's talking about) and Chuck Cooperstein, the voice of the mavericks on radio. He used to give color commentary, and have the 6-7 block.
Oh, and I forgot...Keith Olberman on ESPN with Dan Patrick. How does this guy know so much about everything!?
You want a good sports personality on the radio? Norm Hitzges, from 10-12. He is old and a gambler...so you know he knows everything there is to know about sports. He breaks down the numbers better than anyone I've ever seen in my life. He is a guy who repeats stats, and then comes up with new stats that everyone else uses. He works that hard, and he makes the people around him work hard as well.
For good basketball talk.....listen to Norm or Bad Radio. Usually Bad Radio will spend 1 hour plus of talking time in the playoffs talking after every game. Bob Sturm knows a great deal about sports in general, but knows how to break down the games in laymans terms and mathmatical terms. Some people might not like Dan, but I do. He's a great sideshow that has some great wit.
pssstt greggo....i brought you a banana....
If you go to Dallascowboyszone. They will give you their opinions on Gallowaste. Nobody in Dallas likes him. But I don't know how many prefer the ticket over espn radio, though. I guess, if you like sports, espn103.3 is your station. If you like stations as well as them talking about other , the ticket is your station. I like the ticket better for what it is.
Gordo & Corby vs. Nasty Nestor at the Super Bowl is another great yearly event. At least it used to be I think Nestor got a retraining order against them or something.
Gordo's old Hardline characters were great too. Microphone Johnson and Guy Sports always cracked me up.
Anyone going to the QB Bowl? I got my tickets.
I'd like to go...
Why would Staubach and Danny White (among others) play in a charity flag football game with such a spare station's on-air guys and listeners??![]()
is steve pelleur ever there?
yeah really, one would figure they'd play a charity flag football game with a REAL SPORTS station like ESPN radio, not a bunch of guys that make "fart jokes". You'd figure charities would associate themselves with events at a "real" sports station like ESPN radio, not a bunch of bags that talk out of their ass and make "fart jokes" all day long....hmm....
troy was there (and played) last year. irvin showed up (and played) unannounced.
not bad for a radio station full of no-talent hacks who make fart jokes all day long.
Woooooooooooooo Compound Wooooooooo
stop cheering for the compound.![]()

The Compound is the best week of the year though...Super Bowl week is greatness too...and Cowboys training camp...![]()
Jerry Jones
Troy Aikman
Brett Hull
Avery Johnson
Ron Washington
Darryl Reaugh
Jon Daniels...
...all have regular weekly shows on the Ticket during their sports seasons (and i may be missing a few names)....Jason Terry shows up on their post game show regularly...Mike Modano talks hockey with them on a regular basis...and you never know when Mark Cuban, Michael Irvin, or Quincy Carter will call in unannounced and ramble...not to mention hundreds of other guest appearances (Joe Montana, Roger Staubach, Torii Hunter)...how does the Ticket have the time to do shows with all these guys when they've got that "daily fart joke quota" to meet?
I miss the pranks played on each other by the Hardline during the Port Charlotte Spring training days.
Good stuff...
Road trips are always good. It's cool that The Ticket sends EVERYBODY to all the big events...![]()
I find most of what's on ESPN Radio to be utterly unlistenable. The problem with devoting all 24 hours of your broadcast to sports is that you end up overanalyzing things that don't merit more than a few minutes of discussion. Kind of like 24-hour news in general.
I understand why people would expect to just hear sports on a "sports" station, but I find The Ticket's format much more conducive to all-day listening because of the variety of topics. Not to mention the more down to earth nature of its personalities (contrasted with the trained professional "Radio Speak" of ESPN's personalities. Nobody talks like Mike Greenberg in everyday conversation.)
ding ding ding!!![]()
it sucks but you play the hand you're dealt i guess.
yeah about a year ago or so Quincy called into the Hardline and went on a rambling incoherent rant about the "real" reason the Cowboys cut him...he made almost no sense and wouldn't answer any questions, and basically admitted to being a drug addict without ever saying it.
LOL...he came on the air with them to "clear the air" but wouldn't answer any of their questions.![]()
You forgot to mention Tiger and Earl Woods, Mic e Wie, Tom Hicks, Nolan Ryan, Tom Foolery, etc. Many big name guests make regular appearances on The Ticket.
