as stated earlier.... manu doesnt flop that much on D, but more during offense.
manu has played 75 games this year, AI 65. yet manu has 372 ft attempts while AI has 610..melo has 568 tied with duncan for 12th place. didnt your coach say that all manu does is just put his head down and run into defenders...yet he has about half as much ft attempts as AI.

hey...the feeling is mutual ask johngateswhiteley...i know my spurs history :P
Haha, I don't know johngates, I don't come around too much.... but i'll take you're word for it.

I'd say good luck in the rest of the series, but......

    I can't do that, lol

so now, how exactly is manu the "king" of flops?
Manu is King of flops to the general public because he's Manu, and we're the Spurs, and people hate us.... mainly because we win Championships, and they don't.... (no offense to my man siop, the Nuggets fan)

Same reason Bruce is dirty, but everybody in the NBA that doesn't cry to the media like girls on the regular will tell you he's the best on the ball defender in the NBA, and they love the challenge of playin against him (Vince, Ray...yall listening)

AI plays 42 minutes a night while Manu plays 26 mpg. AI attacks the rim more.

    And, AI is better.

I'm sorry but I don't see how a rake of the eyes could cause him to levitate like that. Usually when people get struck in the eyes, they fall to the ground holding their face.
That's because he was in motion driving to the rim and as he was going uo was whacked in the face causing him to lose control and said picture was snapped.

He wasn't flat foot just standing there, got touched and jumped 3 feet.

Go back and read my previous posts. I said that AI flops. His acting is just a lot less blatant and he's better at concealing it. Plus he generates more contact than Manu.

I love the defense of the flopper. The problem with Ginobili is the embellishment. Sure he got fouled, but then he jumps in the air sideways flailing. Totally ridiculous. People who get hit in the face instinctively put their head down and put their hands up close. This is a good pic, but Spurs fans are right, it doesn't tell the whole story. If you actually watch the play, you can see how theatrical his reaction actually is.

If the refs continue to fall for is act, then kudos to him for not being afraid to look stupid for the good of the team. AI can embellish, but not on Balki's level. Evans is closer, but Balki is still the champ.

The Ginobili flopping thing's been done. Or is this '05? If so, I guess Spurs will win the next three games.

As long as he continues to flop at such a high level, it will be a topic of conversation. It's like people talking about Duncan's bank shot, every year I hear the same thing.

Are you saying we need to get calls on Ginobili flops in order to win this series?

Please tell me that's not what you're implying...

EDIT: Nevermind, I get exactly what you were sayin.... my bad, good point....

that's the point. he stopped and is not doing that no more.

except Denver crybaby fans still bringing it up.

Well, this thread is specifically about that one spectacular flop. Not seeing every Spurs game, but seeing this one magnificently ridiculous effort, it would appear to Nuggets fans that he still is doing his flopping at the same rate. Maybe he just saved his best to bring back against us. Call it crying or whatever, it's just a shame he feels he needs to do that kind of bush league crap when he is a great player and doesn't need to. It diminishes him.

And it's not just Nuggets fans, go to any other board and ask if Balki flops, responses will be consistantly 'yes'.

AI is a chucker. He shot his team out of game 2 and will shoot his team to more losses in this series because he takes bad shots. People talk about missed layups, but those were contested shots - he would do his team better to either pull some of those out or pass to an open man.

Tony Parker isn't a chucker by nature, but he has stretches where he will try to attack the basket with two big men right at the rim and he ends up getting stripped or travels. He cost his team in game 1 with that, and he would serve his team better to pull some of those out or to pass out to an open man.

Show me where anyone said that.

This flop wasn't all that bad except for it's execution, he got fouled anyway. But he's gotten calls in the past he didn't deserve, therefore every flailing monstrocity gets a look.

I don't see it as bush league.... it's playing the game... it's not textbook, but it works...

I see it as like.... catchers framing pitches in baseball.... that's a skill, some would say it's cheating, but when it comes down to it, it's a valuable skill.

I don't get the catchers reference. Ginobili is trying to trick the refs by making it appear he has been physically manhandled by nothing or the slightest in contact.. Framing a pitch....? I don't get what you mean.

The nature of your post shows you admit he flops. Good for you, may be the only local willing to do that.

I'm going to lunch, be back.

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm dumb. I see what you mean with framing. I eff'n hate that crap too, actually.

Yea... I feel you... we all hate it when it goes against us, especially when it happens alot to our teams from the same guys (that's why you don't like Ginobili, I hate Fisher, Harris, etc...)

I'm sure you don't mind when a Nuggets player gets a call like that tho.... I don't blame you, it's valuable to the team, that's why you hear alot of "What Ginobili brings can't be messured in the stat book" comments

When Manu flops and gets a call.... I stand up and cheer, cause I'm happy to see that, happy to get the call, happy to see the effort, etc... Happy to get some sort of repayment for the years of 90's Utah, Derek Fisher, Vlade, and the rest.

So now that Nuggets fans are getting scared they have decided to nitpick? Ginobili flops, so what? A lot of players flop. At least he isnt a little complaining that goes to the media about someone taking an extra step.

Based on your first sentence, you must be a psychologist. I'd love to see your degree. I have read this board long enough to know what you locals about, and much of it is just as trivial. Good try though.

The post above yours would help you out, I think. I could be wrong.

Oh yea because that was such a deep and thought provoking take. Blah blah blah, thats all you guys do. Manus floping has been covered a million times, and most of the time is brought up by opposing teams and players. You got nothing else to about, so Manus floping is brought up like its some revelation. Boo ing hoo
