I disagree jazz have had an easy playoff run making them seem stronger than what they are. They are a good team but not good enough to beat the Spurs
    this year.

Um have any of you bagging on Chuck ever noticed that Kenny and Chuck get paid to disagree? That goes for most sport's shows, the pundits are paid to disagree.

Chuck just lost the coin toss with Kenny, and/ or Chuck didn't want to jinx us with his curse.

it seems he's basing it off of williams 4th quarter points, which is stupid cause the spurs didn't even play williams that hard in the 4th, they had that huge lead and just lost their intensity cause it was pointless to kill themselves trying to get a 30 point win...... the jazz won't beat the spurs, they are a good team, but they ain't on the spurs level
Plus Boozer padded his stats late in the game as well when the Spurs stopped playing D. The score was only somewhat close because they fouled a million times and Sloan took 20 TO in the last min to extend the game.

This done mean much since he did pick the suns over the spurs.
And the mavs over the warriors for that matter.

He said he thinks Utah is going to win the series. His explanation was D'antonesque: I think every person is gong to play better.

I know he's a funny guy. Days ago I put him in the same bag with Kerr. I can't read his intentions.

Charles is great but i don't think he really prepares for the show, he kinda just speaks out of his ass, which is what we love about the guy. He can pick whoever he wants but i think it should be based off more than just a half of basketball.

Well Magic Johnson did pick the Spurs and so did Kenny. But does MJ picking Spurs bode well for them?

He's been picking the Jazz as his dark horse since just before the playoffs started. I think he wants to just say "I told you so." He's usually wrong in his picks. Remember that he guaranteed a Suns win in Game 5.

    yes. we have extreme homers.
We do have extreme homers, yes. But I think you could also add that many Spurs fans probably just got excited over a commentator with national prominenance consistently appearing to root for the Spurs. Fans around here are used to the Spurs getting underpropped or no props. Probably just stung some fans' pride a bit.

Well, he's been picking the Jazz for most of the postseason, so technically he isn't "always" wrong.
Picking the Jazz to win against the Rockets and the Warriors isn't exactly going out on a limb.

It's just surprising that he would go against the Spurs considering how much he likes to swing on Manus nuts.

says spurs have no answer for williams, duncan and boozer will even out, and ... that was about it.
Haven't we been here before? Remember when "we had no answer" for Amare? And in fact it was kind of true. He was scoring at will. But who prevailed? The Spurs did.

    Same thing with Williams.

One man is not going to beat you.

How many games this season did Kobe score tons of points and still lost the game?

We may lose the battle with Williams, but win the war with the Jazz.

It wouldn't be the first time.

Dude has gone mad. He's basing it on the fact that Jazz outplayed Spurs in second half. His reasoning is that Jazz didn't play well in first half because they were getting used to the whole situation, so the second half must be a better indicator.

    Hey Charles, STFU.

    Idiot.
You might be right about him being mad. In the old days, the court jester could say absolutely anything to the King, no matter how asinine or insulting, and was considered quite funny because it was assumed he must be crazy to say things like that.

Bingo. Chuck does this all the time. Why are people acting surprised / hurt?

Question: Did Chuck pick the Spurs or Mavs in 2004?

He listened to his man Manu. Manu advised him to pick against the Spurs because Charles has not got 1 series right this year.

I think this has more to do with Barkely's gambling odds than with actual basketball expectations. Barkely is always going on about his winnings and losings in gambling. If he can convice enough people that the Jazz could actually win, then his bets on the spurs winning will pay off with better odds than otherwise. Also, remember that Barkely hates coming to San Antonio because he feels that the town is not "lively" enough for him at night...I don't care about his opinion about the town or his opinion about the spurs' chances. It's all about Charles, remember. It's not about basketball or anything else...it's about how he can get the most money and creature comforts.

I created one thread last night but I think it got deleted by the administrators. Whatever.

Anyway, Chuck simply said that all the Utah players will play better going forward and that's the reason why they will upset the spurs. I love it.

Typical Popovich is to let one of them loose to score all he wants but stop everyone else. He did that with Amare the previous playoffs and he actually said it. "We can take 40 points from Amare but we need to stop the rest".

I think he only did it to have the series gain some more interest...I don't think there's anyone who thinks the Jazz can upset, Charles is trying to draw some interest in the series and put himself out there...kinda like what he did with the whole Golden state the city is a disaster, etc. etc. talk.
