Red Sox ed up in trading for Gagne...he has sucked and personally lost 2 games in 3 outings. Also the players that they gave up are doing great and had great potential.
Oh well, another fold by the Sox...I am used to that.

Hey head I was here when we got swept by the Rockies.
Theres some sites that i'm a regular on Denverbroncos.com Behindthebombers, ect..
Then theres sites that I come on every once in a while.
I still posted a few times while the Yankees were down.
I was here when we were like 11 1/2 out
But should I post in this thread every single day??
Sometimes theres nothing to say.
Rather then starting threads about the Yankees and/or Boston I figured I would just bump this thread back up.
Were still 4 games back.
It be different if we were in first.
So I dont know what your getting at?
and True.. winning 10 out of our last 11 series isnt that good.
neither is 30-10 in our last 40 games.
BTW: I was gone for the month of July and wasnt online that much.
But from now on I will bookmark this page and bump it every day just to make you happy.
Go check out the other sites I'm on.
I post every day regular about the Yanks and boston.
I was there when we were 14 1/2 back.
Sorry that I dont spend the majority of my time on a spurs site when I dont even like the spurs.

You are giving up already?![]()
What do you mean give up? All I stated was that they folded again...which they have, yes?
Maybe we have different definitions, but no. I wouldn't say they have folded, unless they lose the lead.
I doubt hes giving up.
I dont know of any teams that would give up having a 5 game lead.
Hes just preparing himself for the worse.
And yea Mel.. its hard to call it a fold yet.
I dont know of many teams that can hang on to a 14 1/2 game lead anyways.
They were just playing over thier heads and they are mediocre now.
And we had starters like Karstens. Wright, Clippard, Igawa.
How the are we suppose to win with those bums^^![]()
You guys almost traded Igawa to the Pads, but it fell through. Anything would have been better than him. He is a liability if you make the playoffs. It's like Jekyll and Hyde.
Damn
I was hoping the trade would go though.
Igawa sucks ass.
I remember back in spring training I was all happy about Igawa
But He sucks(just like most of our pitchers we threw out there in the first 2 months)
Now that Karstens sucked it up again we should go back to our good pitching:
Wang
Hughes
Clemens
Pe te
Mussina.
Thats a tough rotation to beat IMO.
We should win at least 4 out of every 5 games.
And our lineup is top notch.
If only the suckass D-rays can do something against Dice-k Tommorow.
But chances are Boston will sweep them.
This weekend should be fun when we go the Tigers at home and Boston has the Angels
I'm hoping to be at least 2 games back after this weekend.
O!!!hhhh, those pesky pesky Birds...
Don't you love it when your team has been in "evaluation-for-next-season" mode but can still make an impact on the playoffs by being the spoiler?
The D Rays beat down the Sox too.
I hate the Red Sox simply because I hate New Englanders. They are the s of America with their rude ass impatient bull
Sadly, this is the state of being an O's fan for the past decade.
Considering that it is very unlikely that the team will sign Weiters (1st round pick, catcher from GT, considered by many as the top player in the draft, and - most importantly - a Boras client), today will probably be a horrible day for the ballclub despite winning 4 consecutive series from the Yankees for the first time in 25 years.
Erik Bedard this season vs. the Yankees:
21 IP, 21 K, 3 BB, 1 HR allowed, 2 wins (would be 3 if the bullpen hadn't blown a 3 run lead in the 9th today), 0 losses.
Legitimate Cy Young candidate, although without the media pumping his case, few people outside of Camden Yards will know it.
Actually, it's a pretty mediocre rotation (probably only 4th best within the division). Wang's a slightly above average pitcher, Hughes isn't yet what he will become, and the other 3 are well past their prime (it's a MIRACLE that Pet e has an ERA below 4 with the peripheral stats he has ac ulated, it should be closer to 5).
But with those thumpers, all the Yanks need is for those guys to eat some innings and they'll be just fine.
However, if you put those 5 pitchers on any other team, they'd be fighting just to play .500
Yea Bedard is a badass pitcher.
I hate facing him.
and I hate facing the O's as well.
They are doing to us what the D-rays did in 05.
But we didnt lose any ground on anyone but Tough loss today.
S ey had that nice Game tying HR.
Hopefully our bats pick up when we play the Tigers.
And as for our rotation I think it can be top notch whenever.
Hughes will be great and he already is getting there.
Wang IMO is great. Hes had a rough last 4 starts or so but hes a great groundball pitcher and gets outs. Clemens and Pet e are obviously past thier prime but they have been effective most of the season. And then Moose is Moose and gives quality starts most of the time. Hes a great #5 starter.
They can all easily pitch 7 innings with 3 ER or less in every start.
I'd take Hughes, Wang, and Clemens over Dice-K, Beckett, Schilling any day.
I wont want to face our lineup come October.
But thats obviously not our future lineup.
In the future when we have, Hughes,Joba,Wang, Horn, and Kennedy.
Thats going to be something else(All farm products too)
Now we have to go play the Tigers. Then our tough ass road trip.![]()
The numbers don't back you there. Schilling is the worst of those 3 for Boston right now, and he's putting numbers up that are about equivalent to Wang, who has been the best of those 3 Yankees.
You could make a pretty solid argument that Beckett/DiceK/Schilling for the Sox, Halladay/Mar /Burnett for the Jays, and Bedard/Guthrie/Loewen (before he got hurt) for the Birds all are having better seasons than any trio the Yankees could put together.
Not that it matters though because the Yanks line-up is significantly stronger than anybody else in the division - especially with Ortiz and ManRam not quite having their typical years.
I do agree with you though that the MFYs have quietly reloaded their farm system.
I got to see Joba pitch an inning on Monday night and he was flat out NASTY. He's come a long way from his Husker days (not to say that he wasn't effective there as well).
losing 9 of a 14 1/2 game lead is folding, IMO. That being said, the Yanks had a cupcake schedule during that run and Boston had a tougher one, so lets see how NY does in the next 14 days, they have a tough schedule.
Yea our schedule was pretty easy. But the good thing about is was we beat up on who we needed to beat. We pounded them teams for the most part(Except the Orioles) But we still have 2 left vs Detroit and then we have to play @ Anaheim and @ Detroit. Then back home for Boston. So now we have the real test. I'm hoping we can get the lead to 3 or less games by the time we play Boston. I'd love to be tied for the division or even the lead going in.But I'll just be happy knowing that we have been playing a lot better. People should learn to never count us out. I swear every year everyone says were done and stuff. But its going to be a tough few months. Hopefully its not "too little too late".
And K-state I still like our rotation the best.
During our 3 game losing streak we had Karstens starting a game(which he hasnt started since April)
We had Mo getting a loss(which hasnt happened since April)
And we had a bad start By Moose( He seems to have one about every 4 starts or so)
Now we got back on track with a nice performance by Andy who has been great this month and for most of the year. Now we got Clemens and Wang going the next 2 days. Clemens has been pretty good for us the whole year except for the one start vs Chicago. But he has had some tough losses and some no Decisions where he pitched Gems.
I would take Wang over Dice-K.
I would even take Hughes over Beckett.
I would take Clemens over Schilling.
I would take Andy over Lester.
And I would take Moose over Wakefield.
Our pitching has been pretty great over the last month.
But experts like Steve Phillips and Co say "we dont have the pitching to get it done" We have great pitching(Old and Young).
But I'm not disagreeing about Bostons pitching. I think they have pretty good pitching which is why they always seem to win games 1-0 and 2-1 all the ing time. Pisses me off but I dont think thier pitching is any better then ours. Baltimore is tough as well with Bedard, Guthrie, and Cabrera as thier top 3. They seem to always give us fits. Indians have a great 1-2 Punch with Sabathia and Carmono. Tigers pitching is pretty top notch. Angels pitching is up there as well.
Theres a lot of good pitching in the AL.
The NL has like 6 pitchers that are worth a damn.
Pitching wins Championships and I hope the Yankees have the pitching to get it done this year.
It will be fun to see how they do as the season gets to the end.
And@ Gagne.
I love that guy.
I hope he just keeps doing his thing.
That's fine, but that's just being a fan. The evidence points the other way in each of those (with the exception of Pet e > Lester).
You say that you have "great" pitching, but the stats just don't back that up. Pet e is the only one with an ERA lower than 4 (and his peripherals point to that ERA being a 'lucky' one - meaning that if he keeps putting as many guys on base as he has, things are going to turn against him), and Wang is the only one that you can reasonably expect to pitch into the 7th inning on occasion. Now, most of the starters have a decent W/L, but that's due more to terrific run support than great mound performance.
But, as I've said, I like (or maybe 'respect' is the better word) the MFY line-up better than the Red Sox - by a decent margin - so if they just get adequate pitching, they could win the division. The Red Sox need to regain the stellar pitching that they had earlier in the season just to hold on.
