I hate when they don't bag Milk. Some do automatically, some will ask. The milk gallon sweats, and when it sweat, things stick to it. Bag the milk...it's a no brainer!
There is a difference between not wasting bags and stuffing too much into them. I also hate when they don't want to put things into bags. Just yesterday, I bought 6 2-lt bottles and asked specifically for paper bags. The guy starts to put each bottle into my cart loose and I look at him and he says-- oh, you want these in a bag? Then I look and he has my eggs piled on top of a bag full of unevenly packed groceries and my bread crammed on top of some stuff hanging out of the bag. I rebagged it. I hate, too, when I ask for paper bags but then they insist that I want my produce in plastic- or my refrigerated items in plastic... No- if I ask for paper bags, I want paper bags. They also like to pull the old-- we are out of paper bags. A bagger told me once that he basically was supposed to make it as hard as possible for someone to get paper bags. WTF??
Kori- as a kid they used to double bag all the time. But like you said, now they cop an at ude if you ask for anything but those plastic bags. I hate those plastic bags. And I hate having to ask for paper bags 3 or 4 times before they seem to get that I would like my groceries neatly put into paper bags-- I even make it easy for them. I group my stuff on the conveyor belt-the heavy stuff first; the cans and boxes together; the refrigerated stuff together; the non-food items together; the bread, eggs, cookies at the end... I understand it's not a glamorous job, but some high school kid can comprehend it. I blame HEB for pounding into them about the bag count or something. And surely someone can teach them not to put bleach in the same bag as my food.

I noticed the Costco sign about a month ago. I was happy until I realized that it's less than 10 minutes from my house, and I always buy WAY too much stuff there.![]()
Target is the $50 club and Costco is the $100 club. It's pretty much a given that you will spend those amounts at those stores.
