Perhaps the biggest compliment to Fab was the he was on the floor in crunch time of a finals game with the score very close, over a certain clutch backup power forward with 7 rings... and he kicked ass!

Actually.. #1 should go to the best F1 racer of all time (yes, including Schummacher) Juan Manuel Fangio, not only a great driver, also an awesome person.

I told you guys, he is a keeper. He impressed me with his game since the world championships in indiana, 2002, I think. He never asks for the ball, he doesnt need to have a play set up for him to contribute. He justs lets everybody play their game and he cleans up their mess. No maintenance teammate.

    25th

It seems that he won't opt out :

Me gusta que Pamesa siga pensando en mí como jugador pero el próximo año tengo contrato en San Antonio y mi deseo es plirlo, pero si alguna vez vuelvo a Europa lo tendría muy claro, siempre te sientes mejor en un sitio que ya conoces
Can someone who speaks spanish confirm that he is saying that he won't opt out ?

Great news if so. If Finley follows then the Spurs could come out ahead in free agency.

He isn't saying that he definitely won't opt out. He said that he has a contract with San Antonio for next year, and his desire is to play it out.

I like that Pamesa is still interested in me as a player, but I'm still under contract next year with San Antonio, and my desire is to honor it. However, if I ever return to Europe I'd really consider it, one always feels better in places you already know.
Looks like he definitely wants to stay

Oberto deadline for picking his option should be today.

another article hinted that Oberto won't opt out :
    http://www.larazon.com.ar/notas/2007.../01443323.html

Fabricio Oberto confirmaron su continuidad en San Antonio Spurs
I wouldn't be surprised to see tonigh or tomarrow a Ludden article saying that Oberto hasn't opted out.

In the CBA, it's written prior to the 25th.
    The 23rd and 24th aren't working days.

Oberto would be doing the Spurs a favor if he doesn't opt out. He couldn't demand a huge amount of money, but someone would be willing to offer a multi-year deal. A team like Phoenix or Dallas would do so just to get him away from the Spurs.
