The Memphis Commerce Appeal is reporting that Ime is close to signing with the Grizzlies. I don't know how accurate that is, but if they are throwing more money at him than the Spurs it could be true.
Did you get kicked off whatever Cavs' site you previously annoyed? I might kill myself if my team had signed Larry Hughes to an albatross contract that will hinder said team's ability to sign any quality free agents, resulting in LeBron's inevitable departure and the Cavs' return to irrelevance. Fortunately, my front office seems to know what the they're doing.

God, I hope not.
geez, they can't catch a break this offseason.
It seems that Memphis has signed Jacobsen to a guaranteed contract :

It said they spoke to him. They never said he was close to signing with them.
I just looked it up and you are correct. I got some bad information form another board. It looks like it is between the Spurs and the Grizz.

English Bruno?
If true then this means Udoka is Udokours.![]()
I could do a translation if you really want even if my German is a little rusty.
To sum up, Jacobsen played last year in Germany and has send an email to his former team saying that he will sign a guaranteed contract with Memphis.
Not sure. Memphis could sign both if they sign Udoka before Jacobsen.
However if Memphis officially sign Jacobsen they won't have enough capspace for Udoka.
Memphis needs to back the off now. They got Jacobson now go yourselves you sons of es. Spurs have played the dumbass role enough this summer so sign this Udoka er and get it over with. Hey Udoka your not a superstar. Stop ing around like this you son of a and just ing sign with us!!!![]()

makes me think that this was the holdup, waiting to get jacobsen in line and then sign oduka and then jacobsen.
forget bowen i want a sean elliot replacement
Looks like Jacobsen already signed. Good news for Spurs fans.
http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/...641819,00.htmlThe Grizzlies finalized a deal Monday with sharpshooter Casey Jacobsen, a guard who last played in the NBA during the 2004-05 season when he split time with Phoenix and New Orleans.
An NBA source confirmed that Jacobsen was in town Monday to sign the contract and visit with Griz personnel. Jacobsen signed a one-year contract.
Jacobsen signed a one year contract, so it is very likely that it's just the veteran minimum contract. so they should still have the money to sign Udoka to something like 3 years / 8-9 million.
considering that this players have very different qualities and the Grizzlies are still thin at SG, I can see them still in the run for Udoka.

I take it you call this a great offseason.

Memphis has now only $1.5M left to sign Udoka. With the addition of Jacobsen, the Grizzlies' roster includes 13 players, the maximum number general manager Chris Wallace has said the team would start the season with.
Both Memphis and Portland seems to be an unlikely destination for Udoka.
I really wonder what the Spurs are trying to do. It is really strange that this whole thing takes so long. Hopefully they will sign Udoka soon and trade for a good backup PG (which is not very likely).
I'm not really worried about a team like the Grizzlies being an option for Udoka. I'm more worried about a team like Dallas, Phoenix or Nets who would go after Udoka just to keep him away from the Spurs.
I figure Udoka is wondering if he should take our (possible) cheap offer or wait for another team or even Portland. I imagine that we wouldn't offer the greatest contract in the world given our situation, but who knows.
You think this approach would work if RC gave him a call?
I wish the Spurs would "close the loop" on this dude - NOW!
The Spurs have up until Feb to ship Beno's ass outta here. Meanwhile, there backup PG landscape is looking really thin.
People are still assuming Udoka signing is a matter of him choosing the Spurs.
I think he's ready to sign, but the Spurs are still trying to see if they can dump Beno before doing so, so as to prevent luxury tax.
There doesn't seem to be a rush to sign Udoka. Memphis didn't want him badly enough to wait, and now they're practically out of money. No one else seems to be in the running.
If I'm not mistaken, the Spurs have up until Feb to ship Beno's ass outta here before rosters are set for the season. After which, if they are over the taxk threshold, they would then incur a luxury tax.
Someone correct me if I'm inaccurate.
