Tony Parker>Kevin Johnson
Hey look kids, it's a troll!
Ooooooooooooooooooooo
Tony Parker>Kevin Johnson
This just keeps getting better and better.
NOW you've gone and done it, you've ordered up one of Phoenix's sacred cows. I don't know if I can watch the fallout.
At least Tony can take a hit without getting all pissy.
Did a sunfan just call out a 6'2" player for not getting a lot of blocks?
If you want to get y....
Blocks per game 2007-08
Tony Parker: 0.2
Steve Nash: 0.1
Tony is twice the shot blocker the taller Steve Nash is.
Look at all the Spurs fans avoid the issue.
I say Parker doesn't get any steals, charges, or blocks so he can't be that great of a defender.
All Spurs fans have to say is laugh that I brought up blocks.
My point is that Parker performs poorly in every defensive category that we measure.
What about steals or charges? Should point guards not worry about that either?
Not to mention the fact that he gets lit up by every point guard in the league.
If you want to compare Tony Parker to Dirk, be my guest. If you were the lone GM to take Parker over Dirk, I wouldn't hire you.
The list of active players to "lead" a team to a le is pretty short: Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Wade, Chauncey. The list of of active players to "lead" a team to a Finals appearance is not much longer: Kidd, Iverson, LeBron, Dirk. Am I missing anybody? Yeah, what a horrible spare Dirk is.
Provide a credible link, otherwise you're full of . Like always.
ok so according to you, a good defender "get steals, charges, blocks"...
- Bowen : 0.6 steal per game, 0.2 block per game
Sorry..... i just don't see your point here
A link? To Parker's statistics?
HERE YA GO!!!
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/player...s?statsId=3527
Hardly the dominant defender.
Very true, but Bowen is more concerened with simply shutting down his individual man.
Does Parker shut down his man?
Ask Devin Harris. Or any other point guard in the league, for that matter.
well, get over the Dallas game... Parker had a bad game, it happens... no big deal...
And yes, i think Parker can shut down his man too.
For a few seasons now, he has dramatically improved his defense.
He is not a beast and will never make the all defensive team but he's doing his job more than correctly
LOL
Da Suns fan is getting pissed off
He knows he's right, but them Spurs fans just keep on bringing some good evidence.![]()
Eva's ratings >>> Nash's
Please tell I'm not reading a Sun Fan critique defensive play.
Yes he does :
Denver series last playoff, Parker was on Iverson :
=> Iverson down from 45.4% FG's during regular season with Denver to 36.8%
=> down from 7.2 assist to 5.8
=> down from 9.1 FT's attempt to 6.2
=> down from 2.5 stl to 1.4
Suns series, Parker was on Barbosa (most of the time) :
=> Barbosa down from 47.6% FG's to 35.5%
=> Barbosa down from 18.1 ppg to 11.3
=> Barbosa down from 4 apg to 2.5
=> Barbosa up from 1.8 TO to 2.33
Gameplan vs Utah and Cleveland haven't assigned a particular player to
Parker so I can't argue more, but in everyway, fact is that his defense is
very underrated, and that you've been...![]()
thanx brave boy !!
I was too lazy to find those numbers...
It at least explains why he's not doing a very good job of it.
Apparently 'shutting down your man' has nothing to do with defense. It's all about the boxscore, baby.
Yeah, thanks for the link, but it doesn't tell me anything we didn't already know. Back at ya!
TOP 10 OVERALL
PLAYER DCS
Tim Duncan 65.6
Bruce Bowen 61.5
Manu Ginobili 60.4
Joel Przybilla 55.6
Devin Harris 54.0
Kevin Garnett 52.2
Yao Ming 50.1
Tony Parker 47.5
Tyrus Thomas 47.4
Luol Deng 45.9
Revised Defensive Composite Score 2006-2007
So by that logic, Bowen is a bad defender as well? Really digging a hole for yourself with that argument.
Says the Nash fan.![]()
LMAO! Nice try dumbass. You couldn't go with Parker locking down Nash so you went with Barbosa (a bench player).
Thats great. I think Brent Barry had a ty series so Nash is a lockdown defender. So did Horry....Amare deserves DPOY.
How did Parker do against Nash? Deron Williams?
Holy ! Deron Williams averaged 29.5 points and 9.2 assists against Parker?!!!
http://www.nba.com/playoffs2007/series/series_w3s3.html
I didn't know he got lit up that bad.
I think that pretty much ends this argument. I still can't believe you used Barbosa's number. Pathetic.
Never seen this stat before....Interesting that the Spurs supposedly have the best three defenders in the leauge.
Yao Ming is a great defender?
Also, 82 games determined that Marion was the DPOY last year, only he doesn't appear anywhere on this guy's list.
He says in his opening paragraph that its a work in progress.....Id say thats an understatement.
