No, that sister did not stay at my house. She & her hubby stayed in New Braunfels & her son stayed with us. He wanted to have fun. Actually, I didn't invite her to stay at my house because of the dog thing. I told her I didn't want her to get sick.

Ha ha, that's funny! Reminds me of the time when my oldest was about 7 and my mom hosted a "fancy" dinner out for our family reunion. My son ordered roast beef and baked potato, and slathered all of the white stuff in the metal container on his plate onto his potato. Was he ever pissed when he realized all the white stuff was neither butter nor sour cream. It was horseradish for his roast beef. We still give him crap for that!

I am a person who would always prefer nice, quiet holidays but I come from a large crazy family and so I knew that it would always be hectic. But after the loss of a parent and having someone in Iraq, I have learned to appreciate the time together- no matter how wild!!

I didn't realize this thread was a year old until the very end but it makes me feel good that there are a ton of other dysfunctional families with siblings that just flat out suck at times.

I didn't either. I was going to comment on 2Blonde's stuffing story because we had the same thing happen the last time we had Thanksgiving at someone else's house. Needless to say, we do Thanksgiving at our house now. Stuffing out of the box is the .

This year things went off without a hitch. We spent thanksgiving at our friend's house. There were about 5 couples, one teenager (my daughter) & 2 little kids. I spent most of the day at home making sweet potato casserole, homemade apple pie & green bean casserole. Then we took over our portion of the dinner to our friends and had a wonderful meal. Nobody even fought... It was great. Then I came home and passed out at 10pm and slept until 11am today.

My little little cousin Janelle-23y/o-(jokingly) said "You're looking great", grabbed my butt and asked if "that incest thang" was okay in my book.

Quite the mishap.

Manu (the new dog) got in a fight with our old dogs, biting Yogi's eye (lots of blood) and causing me to flip out. Manu also crashed through a window in our house. Needless to say, we weren't even able to go to our inlaws for Thanksgiving dinner. We stayed home and I cooked steak, sausage, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. It was fun day anyway, despite the problems.

Unfortunately, Manu can't stay here so he'll be getting a new home.

Manu IS unpredictable!!!
