This reminds me of 2003-2004 season, when TD got injured and Spurs had to play Duncan-less for a while.
He won't come back for week or two

I don't think James Jones did anything to him. It looked like Duncan slipped to me.
No, he did put weight on it, just not much.
The announcer said he was grabbing his ankle, but in fact, he was grabbing his knee
They got tangled up, but it was nothing intentional - more in Tim's spin than Jones' legs.
LOL. The Spurs radio guys made it sound like he fouled Timmy hard.
My bad James Jones.
Tim Duncan went down under the basket with 7:40 left in the second quarter. He grabbed his right knee

Didn't look good at all. Hope nothing is torn.
What sucks is even if we win this game now, it will still kinda feel like an L.![]()
Let him stay out. Better out now and completely healed for the long haul.
He's a warrior, remember '05.
I agree, James Jones doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Hope Duncan is going to be okay. Suns have had their share of injuries in the past few years so I know how it feels to see one of your big three go down.
I hope Duncan gets some rest for a week or two. It's early, we can afford it. TP is playing great, so is Manu. The two of them should have no problem carrying the Spurs for a while.
Any report from Spurs local coverage?
Looked like a sprain of some degree. It's really hard to gauge any injury with Tim because he rolls around on the court a lot regardless of degree as a first reaction, but the fact that he had to be helped off leads me to believe there will be some missed time.
Blazers announcers are not bad at all, but I just laughed when they said the Spurs were battling back without Tim. Um, they play without him some minutes of every game. . .
And damn, Greg Oden looks like he's about 38 years old. Horry looks younger from that camera angle, and we all know Horry hunted mastodon in his youth.
This Oden spot just made me a little queasy...his knee...duncan's knee.
Blah.
Just as we were going into a tough stretch of schedule.
Oh GOD please NO. That looked BAD. Let it be just a sprain, no tears the season is over without Timmy.
I don't think anyone's doubting that Duncan is done for this game. Spurs shouldn't need him to beat this Blazers team anyways.
I just want a report now. The difference between the knee and the ankle is huge, and from Timmy's reaction it didn't seem pretty.
To be honest, the W/L went out of my mind completely.
They're responding to him being out, of course I'd prefer the win.
But my concern now is Duncan.
Anybody got any updates locally? I don't trust these Blazers guys to relay anything to us.
Builds up team character and chemistry.![]()
It's divine works.
What worried me was the way he didn't try to get up, and just held onto his knee. Clearly was not in blinding pain, but clearly knew something wasn't right and wasn't going to around.
I hate that he's going to be out for this upcoming stretch.![]()
Just hope he's back soon and healthy.
Oh yeah Tim is just a faker. This is a guy who played 81 games on one foot a few years ago.
