I guess they vote on this tomorrow, the ammount is $500 or $800 depending on the source, and the income levels are different too. We should know more by the end of the week.
If I get 800 its going to go towards my new Plasma tv. Oh yeah and a new fleshlight hahahahah!! Oh yeah and on my second trip to NYC. If I got it soon then maybe my ski trip next month.

Do we know when the checks would arrive? Will it be mailed separate from our income tax return?
ok after I posted that I found this
http://money.cnn.com/2008/01/18/news...ion=2008011913
this has nothing at all to do with a tax return, it's not a tax return, it doesn't matter if you owe 20,000 to the IRS. They are talking May at the earliest I think
Yeah some of my stupid friends were saying it was going to come on top of what our refund will be. I did that H&R block tax refund estimator. 2,000 back and then hopefully another 800 in summer. That will defiantly add another vacation this summer. I am thinking Chi-town and Vegas.
The Housing Market.
looks like it's going to be $600 now
do you have a link?
sweet thanks
So there's a 25% tax on the tax rebate.
LOL go figure hahaha
Well, Yahoo.com is reporting $300. So who knows. I was looking at new golf clubs, but as they keep reporting it goes down, so maybe I'm looking at a sleeve of golf balls if I'm lucky

well they say $300 to $1,200 so maybe it will vary depending on what you make a year. I'm just hoping for something.
I could use some new ones as well. I still use my starter pair and my 6 Iron broke a long time ago and that is my fav Iron.
I like the $1200 plus $300 per child.
That would be nice.
if your married with kids, but it's all relative. I don't have a wife or kids to spend the money on, I have a girlfriend that will be getting her own.
I'm going to give it to Reverend Midge.
My 3 yr old would have a hay day with $300 and my wife and I would be happy with an extra $1200.
so 1500 bux is on the table for me if the senate approves? nice!
that's a big screen waiting to happen!
i can't wait to watch kitchen nightmares next season in high def!
I just saw on CNBC and looks like the cap is $80k for single and around $150k for Married

Congressional leaders have a tentative deal for a bipartisan economic stimulus package that could move swiftly through Congress.
WHAT'S IN
* Tax rebates: Individuals who pay income taxes would get up to $600, working couples $1,200 and those with children an additional $300 per child under the agreement. Workers who make at least $3,000 but don't pay taxes would get $300 rebates.
* Business tax write-offs: Spurring business investments with so-called bonus depreciation and more generous expensing rules.
* Housing rescue: Allowing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to buy loans larger than $417,000.
WHAT'S OUT
* Permanent tax cuts: Republicans conceded that their top priority would have to be left out.
* Unemployment insurance: Democrats wanted to extend benefits past 26 weeks.
* Food stamps: A boost for benefits.
* Medicaid: Democrats gave up on including Medicaid payments to states.
* Low-income heating subsidies: Democrats are surrendering the fight to include them.
* Infrastructure spending: Spending on transportation or repair projects already under way is off the table.
* Republicans' proposal to allow businesses suffering losses now to reclaim taxes previously paid, appeared likely to be dropped because of its high cost.
