No problem, I'd be glad to know that someone else is benefiting from all of the time I put into researching this. Despite working at a library, no one there could really tell me about any of the programs outside of Texas (most of the librarians have their masters from UNT online), so when I wasn't stuck doing holdings edits I was looking at this stuff. The whole admissions process is a PITA, just a forewarning. No one told me how crazy it would be (despite contacting my profs for recommendations the second week of December and emailing them once or twice a week since then, two of my three recs were late getting in - so, make friends with the admissions coordinators because some of them will work with you on stuff like that that's out of your control).

One of my former profs had a "bad fall", and his doctor must have put him on some really fun pills, because I got some craaaazy from him.

I had that problem with UT - they were horrible throughout the whole process, and then after I jumped through all of their hoops I got a "no action taken" from them. Not a "no", not a "yes", basically means that their official decision is not to make a decision. They have made me even more happy about going to Michigan because Michigan's people have been awesome

You guys will like Ann Arbor...My son went to law school there and I went several times...It kind of reminded me of Austin before it got so big...It has a good music scene and the best Deli in the world...(Zingermanns)...Spring, Summer, and Fall are great. Winter is uhhhh ing cold and snowy....and parking sucks around campus...get used to walking to school in the snow and slush LOL.

My brother lived in Houston. He said one thing (of many) that he couldnt have in Texas was real pizza.

Michigan's suburbs are very, very diverse....so goes the food if thats your thing.

Congrats, Jekka! That's absolutely wonderful news -- the University of Michigan is an exceptional school in just about every respect.

I've been to Ann Arbor twice and can't say that I know much about it other than that my friend, who is an Indiana grad and has chosen twice to make that fact known on gamedays at the Big House, got laughed at endlessly by those who were tailgating on some very nice fall Saturdays. It seems like a really cool place to be, though. I envy your opportunity to experience it!

It goes without saying that if you like football at all, you have to go to a game at Michigan Stadium at least once. It still stands as the best football-watching experience of my life.
