It's amazing how there's zero difference between Spurs fans and Suns fans when the Spurs are losing

San Antonio Suns fans are every bit the crybabies they so often complain about when things don't go their teams way.

It was a flagrant 1, which is what the refs called. If Jason Kidd didn't get suspended for his foul on Pargo, Bonzi isn't either. You've got to do that to Kevin Garnet or Lebron James it you want to get suspended for a game.

But, I think I'll act like a typical Spurs fan if things were reversed and Bowen committed the foul: "It was just good defense. Your team is just soft, whiny crybabies. Bonzi Wells is a great defender who's never done anything wrong. ing crybabies. My god you people whine like little es."

Now all we need is for West to hip check Parker, Chandler to give Duncan a flying kick to the face, and Paul to stick his foot under Manu when he's shooting, causing him to hurt his ankle.

It's just good hard physical basketball. Anyone who complains is just a whiny who has a soft team

Although I did later see Bonzi on the bench talking with Wright and making "claw" gestures with his hand. Maybe he was practicing his panther impersonation.

This thread was started by drunk teenager. Pretty much everyone sane thinks that it was just a flagrant and that's it.

And Spurs fans complaining about the booing must be deaf because Hornets fans weren't booing Bowen getting hurt. They were booing everything.

People were just booing the calls at that period in the game, a lot of people clapped when Bowen got up.

Hornets fans do a good job of booing Spurs fans don't boo that much and sometimes I wish they did. I don't think you should ever cheer a player getting hurt but a rowdy, booing crowd isn't a bad thing.

    I loved borrowing the Saints

I didn't really want S.A. to steal them or anything. But I really want NFL here.

Football talk belongs in the NFL forum.
City smack doesn't belong anywhere here.

    Thanks.
My bad. I thought it was an appropriate response for calling everyone from N.O. a looter and poking fun at Katrina victims. I'll do my best to keep it about basketball.

Yeah, I apologize for the Katrina stuff. I banned a Spurs fan for it last night. It's low class and has no place here.

The city wanted a NFL team, just like OKC wanted a NBA team.

We tried to steal the Timberwolves waaay back in the day. The arena was built to lure a NBA team from somewhere else.

I hate Utah even though they "stole" the Jazz before I was born. We stole the Hornets. We are villians to Charlotte. Even though they quickly got a new team.

The only difference was our teams couldn't (or in the case of the Hornets) didn't want to play in Post Katrina new Orleans.

Tom Benson and George Shinn are by far bigger villians in this than the cities of San Antonio and Oklahoma City. Just both of them were lucky enough to have their best seasons ever their first year back post-Katrina. Had the 2006 Saints stunk we would still be in danger of losing them, had the Hornets stayed on the bottom of the division we wouldn't be able to give our tickets away.

As a fan base we need to step up. Then we would never have to worry about losing our teams. San Antonio is a very big city not to have a NFL team, and with Austin so close they would have one of the largest local fan bases.

It isn't their fault, we would have done the same.

    Good post.

And if I'm not mistaken, NO was in talks with Spurs officials before the at&t center was built about a possible relocation to NO.

Unless you're blind or just plain re ed I think it's pretty obvious that fans in N.O have stepped up for both teams.

    Discuss...
The difference... the speed of both Marvin and Rondo in the open court compared to Bruce and Bonzi in the half court set, which made the impact more dangerous. Plus, Marvin's foul went around the neck area. Bonzi's foul was on Bruce's shoulder.

I think with most fouls that end up getting called a flagrant, it depends whether the player being fouled falls down hard. If Bruce got fouled the same exact way but didn't fall, it would have been just a hard foul. In yesterday's Pistons game, Theo got fouled harder than Bruce did but stayed on his feet. No flagrant.

A lot (but not all) of flagrant fouls end up getting called because of what happens to the player fouled.

You're too easy. And it has nothing to do with Katrina. But, I'll honor the Spurstalk code and stick to bastketball talk.

I was thinking exactly the same thing! One of the differences I saw was the Marvin Wililams foul was without traffic in very plain view whereas the Bonzi Wells foul was in traffic and hard to catch right away. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I don't think much of the Hornet fans either good or bad. Doesn't much matter as they are going to be the next franchise to move, anyway.

Why is that? Season ticket sales are approaching 10k in May, the Suites are sold out, and the owner has publicly stated that he wants a long term deal in the city.
