Apparently he is seeking the full MLE of 5.8 million this season. As much as you guys HATE Sasha he really seems like he would fit right in with the Spurs. I don't how if they want to bring Finley back, and Sasha can probably take over his starting spot right away with Ginobili coming off the bench. This season he has shown he's a good 3pt shooter (#8) and that he can play some pesky defense. I can't imagine an more annoying combo on the perimeter than Sasha and Bowen.

Sasha is also very young, 23. I'm sure the Spurs can mold him into a Bowen like gnat on defense and his shooting is good enough to give the Spurs proper spacing on the floor. The bottom line is the Spurs are in a position to offer a player like Sasha the full MLE, whereas the Lakers would be paying double that since they would be in the luxury tax. There is no way in Buss is writing Sasha 11.6 million dollar checks this season.

Sasha Vuja , don't want him, plus I think the lakers r gonna try and keep the team they have now, seeing how kobe stated his approval of this years 2nd half lakers team. If we could get posey, he would be a great fit, but the celtics r gonna resign him if he's a FA. Bottom line is we need another slasher with decent shooting more than another pure shooter. We got barry, udoka, bonner and possibly fin shootin 3s and parker/manu penetratin. When one of them gets into foul trouble or hurt, then our offense becomes stagnant cuz everyone else outside of the big 3 just hug the 3pt line. A 3rd slasher with a decent shot would help alot

I'd like Sasha on the Spurs, but unless he's willling to negotiate for a cheaper deal, he's off the Spurs list.

LMAO - it seems you are trying to sell this dude to the Spurs. If there's something I know about the spurs is that they will never pay 6mil for this dude.

He has no layups. The Spurs have many spot shooters already. If Farmar was available I would go with him instead.

Sasha can't become Bowen, they don't play the same position at all naturally.

He's not in the short list at the moment.

The more I think about it, I can't imagine a better place for him than SAS considering what he wants.

He wants the chance to start. He wants to play on a team competing for a championship. He wants MLE money. The Spurs can give him all 3 of those things. If he does leave the Lakers I can see him being an extremely effective player on the Spurs.
You think Sasha would start over Manu Ginobili?

Are you high? Why in the world would they start Sasha over a third team all NBA player?

Sasha is a guy who can make some wide open shots once in a while. He has played 6 decent months of basketball in four years now in the NBA.

No team is giving him the MLE, certainly not a smart team like the Spurs. If I am the Lakers, I offer him 3 years at $2.5 million per, take it or leave it.

Ginobili doesn't usually start because he can't handle starter minutes. If the Spurs played him 40 mpg he'd have nothing left in the tank come playoff time. Especially after last season you have to imagine the Spurs will be extra cautious with his minutes.

They need to get younger in the worst way. Sasha has everything they could ask for in terms of a Finley replacement. Shoots just as well from the field, can play better defense, plays with intensity and heart, and now has deep playoff experience. I would be extremely surprised if the Spurs didn't make a serious run at the guy, if only to piss Buss off and make him pay more $$$ to resign Sasha.
