Don Perkins New Mexico. He was actually a FB, which back then they were the ball carriers, Jim Brown was a FB. Perkins was a slasher with a great burst but he lacked breakaway speed.
Calvin Hill has a couple of destinctions, he was the first Cowboys 1000 yard rusher and the first Ivy Leaguer to have a 1000 yard NFL season, he was a 25 foot long jumper at Yale. 6-4 and had a monster stride.
Tony Dorett, he had one of the smoothest styles ever seen, so smooth. Here we had a guy with blazing speed, he was thru a whole ...zoom. And he had great vision, he was great runner. He was out of Pitt.
Emmitt Smith Florida, nice quicks/hard running combo. He wasn't really fast, or overly elusive, but he knew where to run and had some power and a great burst, short range quicks.
Ezekeil Elliott Ohio State, here we the closest thing to that total package, he has it all and will be the best back the Cowboys have had since Smith, yep, better than Murray. A speed back who can run over people or out juke them. He can hurt ya catching the ball, he can bang with on coming rushers. A QB 's dream.
