I've been super impressed by Butler. Every time he's out there you don't really notice him too much. He's just steady and makes the right plays with the perfect balance of aggression and passing.
I LOVED that Pop went with Butler as the true back-up SF this game instead of giving him and Anderson spot minutes. Its clear Butler is a plus every time he is on the floor.

Too bad we play them on January. A long way to go
They are talking about him taking less during his PREVIOUS extensions. It is common knowledge that Tony's new extension is a back-pay.
I have to admit, I was initially against the Butler signing, thinking we have enough old dudes but he's turned out to be a great fit. Smart player and makes good decisions with the ball, too.
LMAO
15M for 11.3ppg and 3.3apg.
Looking forward to the Jersey retirement ceremony tbh
The greatest thing is that Anderson has someone that he has to fight his minutes for. So is improve or die for him. That must be good.
Also loved two Pop moves tonight.
- Diaw early 3... BENCHED
- Rasual penetrates and turnover... BENCHED (should have continue moving the ball)
For real?
He played with it though.
You are not kidding right?
Gotta be, or he's Pop's illegitimate son.
Hopefully the Spurs are rolling by then. I think Golden State runs roughshod over the Spurs in their current form.
Curry would drop a 100 on Porker![]()
Thanks for these sheetsThey're awesome.
Diaw had like a couple or 3 sequences clowning some dude in this way
He's listed as 6'7" but yes, he looks taller than Kawhi. More like a true 6'8".
Wow...props,![]()
Pop is really really strict this year. A lot of those things went on last year and the team was loafing around TBH.
I suspect there were many defensive issues though still to talk about, there was a layup line at one point at the rim and as always the dreaded Diaw/West combo got killed in OBoards and and lack of rim protection.
But its likeat this point. We are bound to continue to see them together bc Tim needs a breather. When another team goes small/perimeter its not such a big deal bc then they can't rebound either, the problem is when there are bigs on the bench and you need them together. It is a given truth at this point that in all reality West is not a 5, even a bench one.
You want to know what is disturbing? Bonner is not looking at this season as possibly being his last.
I've wanted Bonner gone for a long time - that's no secret, but with this current team the past few seasons, I've actually been OK with his role. If he could still shoot, I probably wouldn't have as much of a problem with him getting spot minutes to knock down shots and spread the floor, but if he can't hit a shot, then I have no clue why he's still on the team. I wonder if the Spurs are evaluating him in practice during this early part of the season?

Looking ahead for the Spurs' next "measuring stick" game. Depending on your definition, it might be 12/18 against the Clippers
For listing the only available sf on the market available for the Mid?Thirsty for attention bro.
He was a starter on a playoff team last year..
Yeah, got to come to grips with the fact that he'll never leave or at the very least retire a Spur AFTER TD, Manu, and TP are all gone.
Forcing switches of the Blazer midgets onto Diaw and Leonard post-ups was a thing of beauty. So many easy points.
