Let's talk about Millsaps attempt at a career ending undercut on LA.
Great win, really impressed with the defense and hustle plays by Poeltl, plus Gay seemed to get his points within the flow of the offense, and he hustled for rebounds and played good defense. I think Refs will call light fouls on Poeltl and White (again) in Game 7, which will amp up the Denver home crowd
I saw about 30% of the game, but it seemed the nuggets got the calls in the 3rd and 4th. We couldn’t hardly look at them
my bullets:
- white is solid
-Poetl is damn good
- Forbes earns his money ( maybe doesn’t deserve so much PT, but earns his dough)
- LA AND DD? Blah... DD got points in the cushion
- gay is worth keeping
- hats off to Patty, he worked his butt off
maybe I’m off, but just my limited observation
When is the last time the Spurs won a game 7 on the road?
Last game 7 win was 2014 vs. Dallas, but that was at home.
Great win, now we have a puncher's chance.
I think it was against Paul and West's New Orleans 2008, Manu came up big that game. So did Bowen.
This series has some things that reminds me of those.
Damn, so it's been 11 years. It's time for it to happen again.
It rests completely on DeRozan and LMA. They just need a little more swagger tbh
I still remember Janero ing Pargo going nuts in the 4th quarter and hitting a bunch of 3's to get them back in it and then Tony iced it with like 30 seconds left.
lma + ddr +rg = 70 pts
2008 Pelicans
was that the game when the Spurs slept in a broken plane in NO, then flew to play LAL the next night?
Yeah, total BS. And when Brent Barry got fouled (elbowed in the head by head Fisher) shooting a 3 down by 2 in Game 4. That series was highway robbery.
shorter rotation ... but it was the shot making that gave them the win ... shall they continue to let jokic score and avoid three point attempts?
The last time the Spurs played a game 7 in the first round was 2014 when we won the championship.
The last time we were set to play a Blazers team that just knocked off a team with a game winning 3 by Damian Lillard was in 2014 when we won the championship.
Means nothing but interesting nonetheless
2008 vs New Orleans
Clippers were playing the warriors in the first round as well
Last time game 7 in Denver 1978
I was early on the OP love train tbh..
no, last played was in 2015 where the spurs lost vs the clips. last won was in 2014.
Could this be the last win 9of Pop??
One thing I will say is, the Spurs need to utilize Aldridge more in pick and rolls. There were several times in this game when he set a pick, rolled to the basket wide open, and didn't get the ball. Instead, a guard jacked up a midrange shot. Luckily it was a good shooting night, but that won't always be the case. Either way, it's important to feed your best player and keep him in rhythm. If he goes several minutes without touching the ball, that's not good
Aldridge has good hands and can score in a variety of ways on pick and rolls. He should be getting the same looks as Jokic does from his teammates.
