I wish Tech had Texas State's defense
They leave the Big 12, go to the SEC where they compile a mighty .500 record. With ZERO SEC championships.
They have played Georgia 1 time while in the SEC and complain they are mistreated.
We come into the SEC and will have played Georgia as many times as ATM in conference but the Aggies are mistreated.
And they have stated UT is NOT SEC ready. Like they are or have been ready?

My understanding is Texas State will need to be either:
a.) one of the five highest ranked conference winners
b.) in the Top 12 for the final playoff ranking
Option B doesn't seem likely at all without Option A, but Option A means they can be outside the Top 12 and still have a shot at getting in.
