I don't speak for the left. Certainly there were some liberals who thought there was a chance that there would be witnesses called, but unfortunately they were naive. Their being wrong isn't an argument against me.



It's over. Trump will be acquitted. I don't see any of this in terms of political gain because I'm not interested in partisan gamesmanship. Impeachment was the right thing to do.

But it's not really news if the outcome is already a given. We knew he was going to be impeached because of the numbers in the House. We believe he'll be acquitted because of the numbers in the Senate. It's not about moral or ethical lessons, but political maneuvering toward the 2020 election cycle.
